Heavy, sturdy, easy to read!
This is a great, heavy duty, pure metric tape measure. It is probably the heaviest tape measure I've ever felt, but it is also the most stable tape measure I've ever used. you can pull out the tape and the base will stay still and sit itself very well on a flat surface. The measurements are very easy to read and I like that its in centimeters with the millimeter markings (I'd rather work with smaller numbers with decimals than very large millimeter counts when working on larger construction projects). It also retracts back into its housing smoothly and easily. The only thing I wish it had was an auto-locking feature when you pull the tape out. But I haven't seen a single metric-only tape measure that has this feature, so I think this one is currently the best option. It does have a button at the bottom you can hold down to keep the tape out, or you can slide down the lock button to keep it locked as well. I feel victorious every time I use this tape measure as it means that I (the Canadian) have finally swayed my husband (the American) to a more accurate (as well as easier) way of measuring.

smooth, strong, tough and easily read
Nothing really innovative about this tape but the more I use it the more I like it. The rubber armor is thick and grippy; the belt clip clings like sin; the retract spring hauls the tape back with alacrity but no snapping at the end; the lock works perfectly with moderate pressure. The underside is blank, but the concave-side markings are bold and high-contrast, each 10 cm red, so it's easy to read even in dim light. No dopey inch marks allows the scale to use the full width of the blade, enhancing legibility. I can't point to any individual feature as being outstanding, but it's a a solid, capable tool that does its job well. Aside from the absence of underside printing (which is really handy), I can't complain.

Hefty and Accurate!
I've gone metric! I'm tired of feet and fractions of inches when doing DIY projects. To help me with this I originally bought a metric on the bottom, imperial on the top tape measure but that was troublesome if I wanted to make a metric measurement on the top edge of the tape. That tape measure has since become my out and about device because even though my projects are metric I still have to buy in imperial. This Komelon is pure metric with millimeter and centimeter markings top and bottom. It is a solid chunk of thing (490g), not convenient for a typical pocket but also hard to lose. The tape will extend out full to the advertised 8m, and there is large warning to STOP after that, so there is plenty of warning before the mechanism is messed up. From the fully extended length the mechanism will draw back all but the last 1.5m of tape, but pushing in a bit will bring the mechanism back into play and draw the remaining tape. Checking the markings with calipers as far as I can tell the millimeter and centimeter markings are spot on. This tape numbers each centimeter from 1 (which along with 2 is hidden by the hooked tab) to 800. Every ten centimeters are marked in large red numbers all the way up to the 800 mark. Meters are not distinguished in any special way. All in all, I'm pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it! Join me, join the rest of the world, go metric!

Excellent Metric Tape Measure
This thing is nice. I keep a tape measure on my desk because I love to measure things (I'm an engineer). I wanted a metric tape measure that was about as long as my 25-foot tape measure. This 8-meter tape measure fit the bill. The tape measure has a rubberized outer shell (the black material), and I like that. It would survive a standing-height fall easily. It feels rugged enough for construction work (so it is over-engineered for my squishy office use-case haha). The locking mechanism and surrounding plastic are thick and feel high quality. The tape itself is a great color, it's easy to read, and there is a marking on the tape that says "20° C" which I interpret to mean the tape measure is most accurate at 20° C or room temperature. The temperature marking is a nice touch. Overall I am delighted with this tape measure, and I am going to buy the equivalent imperial unit (25-foot) Komelon tape measure. Thank you Komelon.

It is quite big actually. And it is only in centimetres, which is fine for me but buyers need to be aware.
