Canson Basic Sketch Book, 8-1/2" x 11", White (108 Sheets)

I bought this sketchbook because the other one I had contained paper that smudged badly when erased. This sketchbook has proven to be quite excellent in that the paper doesn't smudge as badly as my old sketchbook's and that erasing can be done in a clean fashion. The paper is high quality and even though I have gone in hard with some of my pencils, the backside of the paper is still clean and usable. The book itself is a great, it's thick and the cover feels nice to touch. One thing I really love about this sketchbook is that when I open it up and leave it open to certain pages, the paper remains flat and open to said page rather than the papers flipping over on their own due to the spinal bend of the book and binding. The binding for this sketchbook is also good. I am very satisfied with this order. The cover can be indented into if not taken care of properly, as well as the book corners, but those things don't bother me. Overall, it was a great purchase.

I use this notebook for gardening notes. The paper is thick and great for sketching and note taking. The cover has a quality feel and holds up well to transportation and dirt smudges. I plan to buy more when needed.

Great paper - accepts India ink without bleeding and the paper does not easily scratch, the binding is fine and the texture of the cover is great in the hand. I ask people I meet to draw in this book as a memento and they're all impressed by the quality and the way it lays (almost) flat. Great price

Definitely a great item to give any artist. I've had the sketch pads with the wire bound pages, and I've always hated them. If you are like me and carry everything around in a backpack, those wires don't survive long. Having a cleanly bound sketch book is wonderful! The paper is great, not super thick though, which I personally prefer. I'd definitely suggest this to others.

Exactly what I was looking for (Needed this for jotting down ideas for art projects so all my sketches are actually in one place, rather than floating around the office on random loose sheets of printer paper) Good, solid cover and binding to protect my valuable ideas from wear and tear, coffee spills and the occasional cat.

I love that I can bring this to client meetings and it looks really professional. Paper is nice and thick. After a couple years of a rough commute, I had to reinforce the binding of my first book with black duct tape, but because of the slightly textured cover, you can't even tell that it's there. Kinda tempted to buy a bunch of these so I never have to fear of being unable to find one :)

I wanted to purchase a new sketch book at an Art Supply store but didn't want to go out during the pandemic. My last purchase of this kind of sketch book was 15 years ago and that sketch book manufacturer has gone out of business. I bought this sketch book without knowing the paper thickness. I was worried it would be a cheaply made, thin-paper copy of my old books. I was pleasantly surprised. This book is exactly like my old ones. The paper is fairly thick, but not 90 lb. which is way too thick. I'd estimate the paper thickness in the Canson book to be about 40 lb. paper. Thick enough to be opaque. Smooth finish to the paper. I'd buy this one again...and I will when I need my next one.

My daughter goes through one of these every six weeks. She likes it because she carries it on public transportation and it's a good size and very sturdy, and also she's left-handed and doesn't have to deal with resting her arm on metal spirals.
