OSMA TRADITION - Pierre d'alun

Bought this back in March 2022, and I just used up the last of it. Probably the biggest bang for your buck on this planet, high-quality (solid alum) and does what it’s supposed to do. Don’t think, don’t ask questions; buy it.

Good product

Wonderful solid alum block, as expected of OSMA, and I like the larger size 100g vs their 75g offering (which I also have to compare). The reason to go for this is of course the larger surface area, better feel/weight in the hand, and perhaps a light plastic container in which to store it. This is something of a game of chance, as you may expect: first, and most important: you have to hope that you receive an intact alum block, which I did. Then, after that condition is met, you're hoping the plastic container is not damaged (mine was). Came wrapped in one layer of small bubble wrap, clearly not enough. Even just a second coating of bubble wrap or--dare I get indulgent--a third would almost certainly ensure it survives its trip from France. You are paying a premium over shaved/compressed alum blocks primarily, and secondarily for the name brand. For such a luxury alum stone, I would have not expected these packaging issues, which is why I've had to subtract one star. To reiterate: no issue with the stone whatsoever; it is perfect for a cool finish to any shave. It is only the hard plastic travel case that came cracked, and not the stone itself.

Bloc osma is the only alum block I will buy. I use these blocks for soothing, toning, disinfecting, and stopping bleeding knicks after a shave. I also use it as a deodorant for the underarms which keeps me literally smell free for more than 24 hours. It is cut from a natural solid block of alum which I greatly appreciate over the cheaper compressed powder blocks other companies sell. Would buy again and recommend to others.

This alum block is far superior to another lower priced product I previously purchased. It is well made and extremely smooth on all surfaces and comfortable on my face. The storage case is a bonus.

5/5 Rating I never really used an alum block until recently. I started shaving with a straight razor and it's made a world of difference with the closeness. But to be more sanitary and to help recover from nicks and scratches it's recommended to use an alum block. This is a natural product when used will help close your pores and help your skin heal. All you have to do is wet it with water and rub across your face after you finish saving. I've been using for two months and it's worked great. Well worth it. This product is from a solid crystal of Alum, and not from a compressed powder. This is good, and may add to some of the price since a solid block is more costly to create. It is a fairly small block, smaller than a box of kitchen matchsticks, for instance. About the size of one of those rectangular rubber eraser (back when people used erasers and not the delete key). The case is not high quality plastic, but it is sufficient. Don’t know how well it’d travel bouncing in a dop kit. Mine arrived fully intact with no cracks in the block nor the plastic case, which is a bit of a miracle as it was in a soft-pack pouch with very little protection. Would I buy again? Sure. But I might also investigate other producers.
