Really need to get this sort of stuff from a diy store
They are well made but unfortunately they are not of any use on my base units

better if screwed to the wood
while the 3M VHB tape is very good after a while it does pull away, if you forget to press the release catch, they come supplied with screws, which kind of tells you you are better off screwing them to the cabinet and not totally relying on the tape itself so yes you do need a screwdriver

Excellent
These are a great set of child locks. They seems sturdy enough, and the sticky pads that come attached to the locks stick really, really well. I much prefer the sticky pads to screws as they're so much easier to install than having to faff around with screws. However, these locks do have screw holes and come supplied with screws if you want the extra security. Primarily I wanted to keep a toddler out of the medicine drawer, but I have them on several drawers and cupboards, and these are working perfectly. It's easy enough for me to open things, but my kid hasn't figured them out (yet!) You can also lock them in an open position, which is a nice little feature if you no longer need them, or just want to keep something unlocked for convenience.

May require additional adhesive
I recently purchased these Child Safety Locks, which were advertised as screw-free, and I had high hopes for an easy installation. The idea of no drilling was very appealing. However, the adhesive on these locks is quite disappointing. While theyโre supposed to be a simple peel-and-stick solution, the adhesion didnโt hold up well on several surfaces in my home especially kitchen cabinets. After a few days, I found that a couple of the locks had come loose, especially on smoother surfaces like my cabinets and drawers. I ended up having to use the additional screws reinforce them, which kind of defeats the purpose of a "screw-free" product. But i should have realized straight away when the package also contained screws. On the plus side, when they do stick, they work well for keeping cabinets and drawers securely locked and out of reach for my child. The design is simple, and the locks are easy to use once installed. Itโs just the poor adhesion that makes this product a bit frustrating. Pros: No screws or drilling required Effective at keeping cabinets and drawers locked Easy to use once in place Cons: Poor adhesion on some surfaces May require additional adhesive

Not tiny gorilla proof
Had these catches on for 5 months. Our 15 month old reduced the first to its component parts within 2 weeks and has gradually worked her way around the room like a tiny angry gorilla, destroying every catch in her path. Nothing was safe. The pans soon were scattered across the kitchen. The contents of the cleaning cupboard, which for some reason look dangerously appealing to toddlers, soon we're incorporated into the toy box. The cereal was next to meet its demise, swiftly followed by the bread, pasta and baking trays. We kept up with replacing the catches for as long as we could but eventually supplies ran out and we were forced to concede to the miniature dictator who has now taken control of all kitchen-based essentials in our home. To add insult to injury, to replace the broken catches required us to rip the shattered remnants from the door and peel the incredibly well adhered pads from the surface - a task made no easier by the human crash test dummy roaming the room behind me. Poor product.

Work well
These work well in my kitchen units. Have to be a little careful when opening doors as you can catch yourself on them. They were fairly easy to install. Good value for money
