OMOTON Kindle Case Smart Case Cover for All-New Kindle (7th Gen, New Touchscreen Display, 2014 Released), with Auto Sleep/Wake Feature, Brown Map Case

Apparently, I didn't pay as much attention to the design detail of this case when I ordered it. I had incorrectly assumed that it was just one of those front-and-back cover cases that the Kindle rested in with elastic straps on the corners, but I thought the price was right for something like that, and I liked the antiqued globe design, so I bought it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's actually a hard plastic shell that the Kindle snaps into, with a magnetic closure that triggers a sleep/wake response when closed or opened. The outside is a dyed and inked leather that's molded to the plastic shell. The inside of the front cover is a fine microfiber lining to protect the screen. It would be nice bonus if the back portion of the case had the same microfiber lining on the inside, but I don't think it's a bad thing without it. The case looks fantastic and is true to the images, fits my Kindle perfectly, and feels wonderful in my hands. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another for my next Kindle.

The cover fit well and looks great. The magnetic catch does not seem to put the Kindle in sleep mode. Most negative aspect is the edges of the case are somewhat sharp not so much as to cut as to annoy while holding. I found an emery board removed the sharp edges enough to suit me. A good buy for the low price.

i love the look, but the plastic cover on the edges deteriorating fast. i travel a lot so that kindle with the case is going with me all the time. it looks like i have to replace it every year. not very impressive if i compare it to the original cases bought with my kindle 1 and 2. which had been on the job for more than 5 years and don't show a sign of deterioration.

I bought this in March 2015 (so 1.5 years ago), and it's just now starting to show some signs of age. The crease on the left side of the cover is starting to get a bit crackly on the outside (I always flip the cover all the way around to the back when I read, which probably exacerbates the wear on this crease. I assume most people do this though, so it's fairly normal wear.) It still functions just as well now as it did when I bought it, though: the auto on/off works perfectly, it still fits my Kindle like a glove, and it hasn't broken or cracked or otherwise become any less effective at protecting my Kindle. I suspect I'll have this for at least another couple years before it finally bites the dust. To reiterate the product description -- the piece of map you get may be different from what's pictured. Mine's got New Zealand and a bunch of ocean on the front of it, which I thought was way cool, but it sounds like people have different experiences with the piece of map they get.

This case fits my Kindle 7th generation well. The hardback gives a greater sense of security for that paper thin plastic kindle. The closing mechanism works well and turns my kindle off. The only complaint I have is the picture map is not as advertised. You will probably get another section of the map. Otherwise this is a cheap case, fits well and provides good protection for the kindle 7th gen.

The plastic began cracking/breaking off where you open and close it; where it has a tab protruding. I'm hoping to get it replaced because it says the product has a lifetime warranty. UPDATE: If I could rate the customer service, I would give it 5 stars! Customer service contacted me with an offer to replace the product or refund the purchase price. The product itself is 2 stars, maybe 3. The case can still be used at this point, but I had to cover the broken area with electrical tape. Because of the outstanding customer service, I did actually take a chance and ordered another case for another Kindle. Hopefully it holds up better than this one did.

I love this case! When I first saw it online, it included the east coast of Asia including the Philippines and Japan. Since I have connection in those places, I was really excited about it. The one I got, however, includes the Eastern US and Western Europe. That was a little bit disappointing, but it still looks great and works great. It puts the Kindle to sleep when it's closed and it wakes it up when it's opened. Another thing that I was very glad for is that it folds back completely behind the Kindle. This makes it very easy to hold. I will definitely purchase another one when needed. Update June 10, 2015 Just purchased another one for my wife's new Kindle 7th (different design this time - Rose Red Map). We love these cases. I think the main selling points for me (besides the very reasonable cost) is as I stated before: it wakes the Kindle when you open it and puts it to sleep when you close it. These are great cases!

I got the solid blue cover when I bought my new kindle 2 years ago and loved it. The magnetic piece on the right cracked, so I decided to get this one to replace it. I'm disappointed that the cover photo is not like the one pictured, but has a different map which I don't like nearly as well. I wish it had said that the illustration might not be the same as I would have reconsidered. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. Still, it will be good protection for the kindle. In fact, the kindle fits into it so well I had a terrible time removing the old cover.
