A pillow speaker that can be heard
I am a pensioner but don't wear hearing aids - and it maybe depends on the cd player - but I've tried every pillow speaker I can find, only to conclude that they are all too quiet for me. Then I found this one with an optional in-line amplifier - What a difference! It has a quality feel about it and is powered by a single AAA battery which has so far lasted a week of being on all night - I will probably try it with a rechargeable one in the future but for the moment it is still going strong. A very pleasing purchase if it lasts as long as I do!

Excellent Pillow Speaker
These are excellent. My wife uses her's every night and I don't hear a thing. So good that this is a second one bought as a gift.

Sturdy, sensitive enough speaker for even cheap MP3 players to drive it to decent volumes.
I seem to break my pillow speakers every few years, and although my last pair were the BEST ever - they dont seem to sell them any more - and they were stereo as well! This appears to be the best of the bunch still on the market, although it is only mono and the sound quality isnt up to my previous pair. They do appear sturdy though, so hopefully they will last a long time. The volume control is a bit on/off in action, but other than that, they are fine, with enough oomph from my little mp3 speaker to penetrate the depth of two pillows; so I havent had to use the battery option.

Does just what is is supposed to do. No problems with the volume.

Pillow speaker was received in perfect shape and worked as described. Volume control had good range but anyone looking for a speaker that can be set a distance away will be disappointed. This speaker was meant for close personal use and will not disturb anyone even a foot away. Excellent quality.

My wife has tinnitus and listening to the radio on a night time in bed seems to calm it.

Hello, This is Hugh, Carol's Hubbly Bubbly. I just purchased my second PS-300 pillow speaker with amplifier and volume control. I use my pillow speaker every night. I am either watching a movie on youtube or listening to the BBC . This speaker works very well and does not tisturb my wife. It works well with my android and my tablet as well as my portable radio. The speaker is quite thin and smooth and when positioned correctly I fell no discomfort having it under my pillow. The volume control and amplifier and battery compartment are in-line and close enough to the speaker that they are easy to access. The single AAA battery is for the amplifier only. The speaker will still function when the battery is discharged. But for youtube you will need to use the amplifier often as the volume level on Youtube is all over the scale. The speaker is also nice for listening to audio books. I have had my first PS-300 for years. And as it turns out, it still works really well. I just had a bad bunch of AAA batteries. But that's fine I will keep this one for a back-up. The battery life will depend on how much you use the amplifier and whether or not if you can remember to shut it off when finished. In closing I would say the PS-300 speaker is a very good value. The only suggestion I would make is when removing it from under your pillow do Not Tug on the wire, reach under the pillow and grab the speaker. I think that pretty much covers it, I hope someone finds this review helpful. Cheers

It has an input input impedance of 200 ohms, doubt that any smartphone can power it correctly without an amplifier. The sound is incredibly low without the amplifier, wih the built-in amplifier its ok. You'd think they would include a sensitive speaker thats easy to drive for portables, and atleast be able to power the amplifier by usb instead of a battery that probably runs out if left on while you're sleeping. Compared to my phone speaker, the volume is about 1/10. Updated review from 1 to 3 stars cause it does work as you would expect, with the amp.

El precio me parece un poco alto, pero es un buen producto un audifono para la almohada, no molesta a mi esposa el sonido de la musica que escucho por la noche, el amplificador es un buen toque, aunque en mi caso, superfluo, los cables me parecen un poco fragiles pero el tiempo lo dira, en general una buena compra
