Umbilical Hernia Belt for Men & Women - Abdominal Binder Post Surgery Compression Garment w/Removable Abdominal Pads, Belly Support Band for Epigastric, Navel & Ventral Hernias-L/XL

I bought this to hold in a large abdominal hernia just above my belly button. I actually have 3 abdominal hernias. But this one is the biggest and most troublesome. I read a bazillion Amazon reviews on different abdominal binders. You will definitely want to measure your waste before purchasing any hernia belts. I did a lot of research before deciding that this would be a good option for myself. As with all things medical, each person's situation is different, and you have to weigh the pros and cons to make a choice. My concerns with using such a device: putting pressure on my pelvic floor, making a hernia worse, making my abdominal walls weaker from too much use. My reasons for looking into such a device were to be able to continue my active lifestyle, do yard work, lift heavy things, bend over a lot, etc. without aggravating my biggest hernia, or making it worse. I don't wear it unless I am going to be lifting something heavy, doing yard work, or bending over a lot doing a certain task (picking up pinecones). I have had it for about a month, I think. It seems to be really good quality. I strap it on pretty tight to hold support the abdominal wall/hernia. I am short wasted so I'm glad I got this one. The 9 inch would have been way too long. It does shift a little bit when bending over a bit, but not badly. I just pull it down a smidge. I highly recommend reading a bunch of different reviews and looking for people with a similar body type and activity level before purchasing a product like this. I am approximately 37-38 inches at my belly button(because of the hernia), and 40 at the hip. I purchased the S/M and it's a true to size. I wasn't sure if I would use the pad that you use to push in the hernia. It seemed huge when I first put it on, but I am so glad I have it. It's really awesome that it's adjustable/customizable to cover a certain spot/hernia. You could purchase another if you needed multiple. I think using the push-in pad is a major benefit to holding the hernia into your abdominal wall and supporting around the hole. Definitely measure yourself before ordering. I LOVE this belt. I have been able to lift 50lb. pavers, dog food bags, hay bales, bending over a ton, and I am not soar, with a swollen, aggravated hernia at the end of the day when I take this off. It does what I purchased it for. Hernia is inside, not pushed out and painful. Long term, I will have to get the hernia fixed, but I am not in a place to do that currently. This is a temporary tool to help me with my current life goals and I am very grateful for this product. I will definitely purchase this product again when I need another one. I am sure it will wear out eventually. This is a great product for a good price. Being able to be active and productive without making my hernia worse is a blessing. I don't know about wearing it against bear skin. If you don't want it be seen, I would personally put on a snug fitting tank top to wear under it so it doesn't rub your skin. I usually just wear it over my t-shirt and jeans without any problems. If you wore it under your jeans, you wouldn't have to take it off to go to the bathroom. It will feel pretty tight, but that is the key for what it's supposed to do. Seems like a really great company that has a lot of high-quality products to help people for a decent price.

I used this for an umbilical hernia. It kept the pain at bay by keeping the hernia from coming out more. I found it easy to use and comfortable to wear. It had adequate support and did not roll. Definitely a great tool for hernia management. It kept me supported until I could get my repair surgery done.

It's a good product. I'm happy with it & will keep it, and would even order it again. I will point out that in my opinion, when I first examined it, I believe I put it on backwards. If you view it carefully in the photo and then compare when it arrives, you will notice that one side it smoother, and this is what I thought would go on the outside. It probably could be worn either side, but it is shown in the pic with the label side facing out and the oval panel on the outside. I think the firm supports inside it that are similar to what's used in bra construction make it especially good and better than most binders sold at pharmacies, etc.

This hernia belt has made a world of difference and my pain level. I have pretty much no pain when wearing this belt. I'm a very large man 6 ft 3 in 303 lb with a pretty big gut. My belly measures about 54-in relaxed I simply measured my belly and ordered according to the chart. I wear this brace when I'm at work for 8 hours +. This brace comes with brace bars vertically to support back and gut which is pretty comfortable. as long as you're not sitting down for long periods at a time. when you sit down they tend to dig in a little bit because they're Ridgid but with the slight adjustment it's really not a problem. the positives outweigh the negatives . that's why I took off one star for comfort. As a side note it tends to add a slimming effect also. But no need to worry guys it has an industrial back brace look you're not going to be accused of wearing Spanx LOL .I suggest anybody's suffering with I would say to the minor side of hernia should definitely give this belt a try.. what's the worst that could happen ?you have to return it. I really think it could help anybody dealing with these issues. I have a double hernia minor inflammation it was getting way worse until I start using this belt and it's actually pushed it back in. my belly button has gone back in as well. I won't do any kind of work without it on. when I get home I take it off and function as normal. but as soon as I go to work or try to do any chores around the house I definitely put this belt on. seems to work for me and for 30 some dollars. To me it's well worth it... I hope this review helps anybody considering buying this belt. PS. I forgot to mention there's a little insert that you put on the inside of the belt that velcros to help push back in your navel or on the hernia either or. I found it quite helpful in the beginning. I do not wear it anymore because after a long period time it tends to bother me but everybody is different. it's a nice little feature to have if you need it. And in the beginning I did use it quite a lot.

It does the job of compression after my surgery but the boning is too thick and uncomfortable to wear for a long period of time. 4-6 weeks in a brace it's not recommended at all.

Hab eine ca. 25 cm lange hernie entlang der (aktuell nicht vorhandenen) linea alba nach einer bauch-op. toller gurt. gibt starken halt und hält eingeweide zusammen.

I got this belt for an umbilical hernia. It is a well made product and I am happy with my purchase. I am 5 11 and I weigh 280 pounds. I have a big belly area to cover so I found it was better to lie on my couch and put belt on so I could pull the belt tighter to get maximum tightness. I got the 2xl size. a bit tight to get on but it worked. I wish belt was 3 inches bigger but hey i could be a little skinnier too. :) This belt doesn't roll up easy once in place. It is a bit restrictive due to its width but being in construction I still managed to be able to move ok in it and do my work carefully. Velcro is good quality and I got about 8 months out of mine with a lot of abuse on the belt. If you are not rough with the product I'm sure you can get much more life out of it. I would definitely buy it again. Works well! better than some other belts I used in the past. Over all great stitching on the product. Very durable overall.
