It should. As long as you have Windows and the proper software you should have no trouble.

I am using mac os snow leopard. wondering if it will work with 10.6.8 due to fact that i am using final cut as a primary work system.

Does this works with any government ids and hp laptops?

The smart fold reader is a transparent card reader and is part of a solution and will need smart card middleware in addition to a smart card. It is a PC/SC device. Also make sure you have the correct USB port matching the smart fold reader you purchase. Our reader supports ISO 7816 standard smart cards including the U.S. Government CAC and PIV credentials. Will it work with Mac OSX Mavericks?

I concur that this works with El Capitan 10.11.4. I had CACKey 0.7.5 already installed and this unit worked "plug-n-play". My unit arrived as an SCR3500 A.
