This is a great part to reduce iron pipe leading into a Generac generator. I used 1" pipe to hold more gas volume and prevent surging. The reducer is used right where the pipe enters the generator.

While the fitting does work, the threads are cut so large that it takes about 10 wraps of thread tape to make a good seal.

I purchased 4 of these reducers for a large hydronic heating system, when it came time to the air test I had 5 leaks out of 150+ fittings. One was a missed crimp on a 1" pex line (10 second fix), the other 4 were these 4 2"X1" reducers. After bringing out two 36" pipe wrenches I was eventually able to get 2 of the fittings to seal with 300+ ft/lbs of torque; going to have to replace the other two or see if I can back weld them. Absolute GARBAGE!!!

This stainless steel pipe reducer is well made and works as it should. I purchased it to make an outdoor shower and I’ve had no problems.

Item was just as described. Very good quality.

Solid unit but getting threads to seal required me to use both pipe dope and a ridiculous amount of tape. Seems to be a common thing with Chinese made steel fittings.

exact as advertised. loose fit and raggy threads, required a little triangular dremel to clear up
