Clairol Root Touch Up Permanent Hair Dye, 5 Medium Brown, Pack of 1

The best root touch up for medium brown hair ever! I use this about once a month for years and it seamlessly blends into my hair color! No one knows I even use it! I told a friend once I dye my roots and she could t believe it and another friend asked what color I use because she loved my hair color! For the money you have to try it, it too expensive to get hair professionally done anymore so this saves my roots from going grey! This is always one of the best things I buy for myself

I LOVE the color and I love how simple Clairol has made the process. I have medium brown hair and I travel for business often - for many months at a time. Finding someone I trusted in whatever city I happened to be in was too stressful, and several years ago, I decided to try this. The other brands made you open and use the entire container and I really want it for touch-ups, as needed. I need to control how much product I use at one time. I got good at mixing and honestly, it's a breeze. NOTE: When applying it, you may want to lightly comb it through so it blends the color with your dyed color. I do this and it blends. Use a comb you no longer need or love. It will get dyed, too! I leave it on the prescribed time and I also have forgotten and left it on about 10 minutes longer and each time it looks fabulous. I have even used it on my eyebrows, carefully. Even my neighbor/friends who get to see the gray creeping in think I have just gone to my hairdresser, so that says something. Also, I have thin hair, and keeping the color at the roots and the growing out hair added thickness again. I have a convertible and the top is down most of the time and I will say, the color does not fade. I love that it comes with everything you need for a successful root touch-up for a reasonable price. It grows out like any other hair color job.

Covers gray beautifully but has very strong ammonia smell. So be careful. Use a fan while applying. I have sensitive skin and it did not burn. It also stays in while using clarifying shampoo. It doesn't fade.

I have been using this hair dye since COVID when we couldn’t go to salons. It was and is surprisingly easy to use so I never stopped using it and have saved a ton of money!

Works but only if I use 2 tubes. The last time I purchased this product I only bought one. I left it on for 10 minutes, but it barely covered my gray. I think I was not using enough product, but there was not enough product. I don’t even have very many greys . This past time I purchased two boxes so my hair was more saturated and I got much better coverage this time. It’s too bad. They don’t make a box that contains more product.
