Works well. Smells terrible.
That's the entire thing. This works (for me) . I boil the water in a COSORI Electric Gooseneck Kettle (get one. seriously . it's a great thing to have for tea/hot water and saves you a bunch of time) . Anyway. I boil the water to about 190 in the kettle. I then pour the water into a larger mug , say 12oz , ceramic mug. Quick note. DON'T tear open the package until JUST before you pour water on it in the mug. That will limit the "distinctive" odor. And yes, it really does smell bad. The Valerian root packs a punch. Read up on it in case your are curious as to why the smell is there. Long story short : Acid and Oils . Funny note - If it does not smell bad then your product isn't genuine. Note: I neglected to mention this but it is VERY important. This product contains Valerian Root. Valerian Root is meant to adjust the body for ones restful sleep over time, reducing anxiety and restlessness, consistent sleep support. Support for Sleep. Basically it helps you relax and find a better sleep pattern. This change is gradual and not meant as a quick fix for a good night's sleep. Your process to find THAT sleep may take a few days and or week.It DOES work but that change is gradual. It helps to build a restful sleep over time. If you want something immediate then look for a product that contains Melatonin. Melatonin is produced from your body while Valerian Root is a plant based herb that takes some time to change the body via GABA. And THAT is something that the Root does . It increases GABA in the brain . I can not stress this enough : Look for something that has Melatonin. THIS is meant to help a person fall asleep. Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra is a good example for something that contains chamomile, spearmint and others ( It contains Valerian too but that amount is used to help the effectivness ) . Look for Twinings Superblends Sleep+ for something stronger and immediate use . Also. Do NOT take Valerian and Melatonin at the same time. Yes the one product has Valerian too but not in an amount one may think. For example : Do NOT drink this tea (Nighty Night Extra Tea With Valerian Root) with something like sleep+ ( Melatonin ) . It will REALLY screw up your body.

Excellent for sleep and to relax!
Excellent quality and price! I use this to relax both before bed and if I'm having a bad day. It works well for me. I steep it for about 12-15 minutes. The taste is good but the smell is not as good. It relaxes me when I'm having anxiety and helps to stop the racing thoughts at bedtime. I'll rotate this with Chamomile & Lavender tea. I find this one works a little better.

Great night time tea.
I bought this tea to help with my insomnia, and it is honestly the best nighttime tea I’ve ever tried. Not only did it help me fall asleep quickly, but I also stayed asleep through the entire night, which is rare for me. The only downside is the smell. The taste isn’t great, but it’s manageable. However, the smell is pretty strong and unpleasant. As soon as you open the tea bag, you can smell it immediately—it almost has a sewer-like odor. I literally drink it without breathing too deeply. If you can tolerate a strong smell, this tea is absolutely worth it. For anyone struggling with insomnia, I 100% recommend it.

Works pretty well
These work pretty well in helping me relax but the smell is pretty tough to deal with. They should infuse it with something to make it easier to drink.

My Dynamic Duo
After learning the benefits of valerian root as a sleep aid, I started taking this Solaray Valerian Root, 470 mg, 180 Count in capsule form, along with a cup of this Traditional Medicinals Organic Nighty Night Tea, 16 Tea Bags (Pack of 6) before bed. This combination works well for me, but the sedating effects of valerian root in capsule form took an hour or more (for me) to feel. It’s not hard to understand that it might take this long for the gel cap to dissolve in your stomach and then be absorbed into the bloodstream. So I took the valerian capsule a couple hours before bedtime, and drank the tea right before bed. No complaints - this combo provided the sleepy feeling needed to fall asleep in minutes, fall back to sleep quickly after any bathroom breaks, get a full 6-8 hours of continuous sleep, and wake up refreshed without any morning grogginess. Who could ask for more? Me. After discovering the valerian root version of Traditional Medicinals Nighty Night tea, I wondered if it the valerian root would work faster in liquid form – and it does. So now, 30 or so minutes before bedtime, I drink a cup of tea brewed from a single tea bag of BOTH Nighty Night teas. Yes, I’ve tried Nighty Night valerian root tea by itself, but sleep onset is considerably slower. And yes, I’ve tried the Nighty Night tea without valerian root, but the passion flower blend isn’t always potent enough to keep me asleep all night. What the valerian root blend lacks in smell/taste is made up for with longevity, and what the passion flower lacks in longevity is made up for with smell and taste. Valerian root smells like a sewer all on its own, and has nothing to do with the brand or delivery method. But it’s safe and effective, and I’d be more concerned about any form of valerian root that didn’t smell putrid, as it probably means it’s poor quality and/or there’s not enough of it to do its magic. That said, Traditional Medicinals has done a good job of masking the odor of this high-quality, organic tea, and an even better job of masking its flavor. The passion flower blend is a downright tasty brew. The valerian root blend isn’t as tasty as the other, but it’s not as bad as some here would have you think – its smell and taste have been nicely masked with other herbs. And when the two are combined, the flavor is very nice indeed. If you're looking for a cozy flavorful herbal tea just for the sake of enjoyment before bed, you might want to look elsewhere (or drink the passion flower blend alone), but if you're looking for sleep, you've come to the right place.

It helps you sleep
If you struggle sleeping all through the night or falling into a deep REM, try this! I drink it with nothing added to it right before I’m ready to go to bed. It tastes good, it doesn’t need anything added like sweetener.

Good tea, terrible packaging
Tea is good, helps me relax to sleep. But the packaging is ridiculous, shipping a soft box of tea in a bag, by usps and they crush it everytime. Needs to be in a box.
