What's the difference between the 43 and the 43/1?  The one at bought at a store doesn't look as bluish for the face nor stitching.

I don't understand your "43 vs. 43/1" reference.  If you purchased a #SRB4311 Blue Ice Cocktail Time, it is the same watch as Amazon is selling.  What's making you think you have one that is not as "bluish" is because the photo makes it look more blue than it actually is.  It changes from almost white, to a pale blue, depending on the light source.  (Thusly the name Blue Ice.)   Also, the stitching is not blue, at least on my strap...it's black.

What’s the difference between the srpb43 and srpb43j1?  it seems that nobody knows or they aren’t willing to answer the question honestly.

The SPRB43J1 is made in Japan.  The SRPB43 (non-J1) is not made in Japan, but rather, it is made in another country such as Korea.  The 'J1' model of most Seikos are more desirable to collectors and watch enthusiasts, due to the Japanese manufacture, but may not be a better watch.  The Seikos from Korea are made in a Seiko factory, to Seiko standards.  If the cost difference is not out of your budget, I would recommend choosing the 'J1' model if possible, if only to have the 'Real Japanese version'.  I own the SRPB43J1 - it is a lovely watch!

Srbp43j1 (this item) and srpb43 (also for sale on amazon) differ in price by about $100. is there a difference? both are ice blue presages. difference

The J1 indicates that the watch was made in Japan. I've heard construction may be slightly higher quality. I purchased the J1 version and am happy with it except for the lack of blue on the dial. It is very much silver and colorless.
