Love it!
It's not too often that I'm impressed by new technology since it's moving so quickly, I barely have a chance to notice! But I recently bought this to secure my possessions at the campground. I have tried several ways to secure my very expensive Progressive surge protector and haven't felt comfortable with any of them. Then I found this... Out of the box, I had the concept down in less than three minutes! A new record for a technology product! It came with a handy dandy little screwdriver to remove the battery cover and even included RAYOVAC batteries! The cable itself is 31" long, and has about a 3/8" thick cable. The alarm has a 110db alarm which is really, really loud! The lock is keyless and operates completely via an app and bluetooth on your cell phone. I was very surprised to see how easy it was to use! Once you install the app, you press the little lock button on the front of the unit and it shows up immediately in the device list. Click on it, change the name and password and you're done! Anytime you want to unlock it, just open the app and click, Unlock! It only takes about three seconds to connect to the app when you first open it after the initial setup. I noticed a few reviewers said they could not connect. If you press the picture of the lock under the bluetooth symbol, it will beep three times and make itself visible to bluetooth immediately. I didn't see this step in the instructions. The app has an auto unlock feature that I would not recommend using. I was able to walk almost 100' away from the unit and it was still connected. Leaving the auto unlock on will keep it from locking if you're in the immediate vicinity. You can order more than one of these and name them in the app. For example, you could have kids bikes, my bicycle, scooter, shed, etc. The app can handle as many locks as needed! Like I said earlier, there very few technology products that impress me anymore... this one did! Right down to the nice carrying case! The only thing that would have made this any better is if there was an app for my Galaxy Gear watch!

NuLock will safeguard your bike, sound an alarm when tampered with, and can be controlled by a smartphone app
When I read of the RVing couple that had their bikes stolen right off the back of their RV in the dead of night while they were inside sleeping, I thought how vulnerable I was to the same kind o thievery. That's when I discovered NuLock. The feature that caught my interest was that if someone tried to steal the bikes from the couple that blogged about their loss, this might be the product that would have thwarted the theft. The NuLock looks like other heavy-duty cable locks, but with both ends of the cable inserted into a small black box. I verified the manufacturer's claims that if the cable were cut, moved, or even fiddled with, a short 110dB screech would sound, warning the wanabe-bicycle thief that he had better not mess with these bikes. If the vibration continued, such as the thief trying to figure out how to shut it off, it would then sound its classic screech for 30 seconds. There was no doubt it would arouse sleeping owners or others nearby and the thief would likely fade into the night empty-handed. And if he so brazenly decided to try to cut the 10mm braided steel cable with bolt cutters the screech would sound and not stop until the ownerโs cell phone detected it within Bluetooth range. Now short of also extracting handcuffs and cuffing the thief, this looked like a pretty good deterrent to bike thieves. But one of the really clever features of the NuLock is the accompanying smartphone app, whereby you can both arm and disarm the lock - and the alarm - from the app. Additional features include the option to automatically disarm the lock and alarm when the smartphone is near the lock, and a small red LED light that advises you when the lock is activated and blue when not, as well as indicating when the batteries are low and need to be replaced. You can turn on or off the automatic feature on the app, as well as manually activate or deactivate the alarm. With the automatic feature turned on, you never need to fiddle with the lock. When you and your phone are nearby it deactivates, allowing you to open it and use whatever you had locked, and relock it again and set the alarm automatically when you and your smartphone walk away Nulock Keyless Bluetooth Bike/Motorcycle/Gate Lock IP44 Splash-proof Cycling Lock with 110db Alarm, 0.38" Diameter 31-inch Braided Steel Cable Nulock Keyless Bluetooth Bike/Motorcycle/Gate Lock IP44 Splash-proof Cycling Lock with 110db Alarm, 0.38" Diameter 31-inch Braided Steel Cable .

Sprinkles/rain sets it off, difficult to connect BT, does not stay off when shackled
Update April 8, 2019 Yup, just filed the return. Just finished trying to connect to it for about 10 minutes at work. Alarm would not engage; button to decouple the lock would not press. Finally connected to it after several app restarts, restarting bluetooth, etc. Turned auto-enable on and off, unlocked the lock via app, and several other "change anything that can be changed" within the app and somehow finally got it to unlock and let me push in the physical button to decouple the lock/cable. 73% battery. Not fooling with this anymore - it's going back. I found the lock I was looking for on the popular auction site. Changing from 2 Stars (lock does not work for me) to 1 star (lock just does not work well at all). Original Review left April 5, 2019: This may work for some people and their needs, but does not for me and mine. 98% sure after the first two days of trying it out that I'm going to return it. I just want a cable lock I can leave on my motorcycle and turn the alarm on when I want to. What I want is this lock, but it is no longer available "YEHAM Anti-Cut Burglary Digital Lock with Alarm" https://www.amazon.com/YEHAM-Anti-Cut-Burglary-Digital-Motorcycle/dp/B01M72HWY8 Into my 2nd day of trying it out. Since, when first coupling the lock, you need to press the button on the lock to lock it, I presumed that would always been the case. It is not. I got to work yesterday, coupled the lock, pressed the button. After work, I used the app to manually "unlock" it (did not decouple / pull the cable out of the lock). Rode to the drugstore to pick up a few items. Got back on the bike, started it up, and was surprised with the 3 beep warning, and then the alarm. I'm guessing that since I left the lock coupled/together, once I was out of bluetooth range, it armed itself (I had auto-disable turned off, so had no idea it would auto-enable). Of course, I could not connect to the lock with the app. I'm guessing that since my phone was already attached to my helmet comm, it wouldn't connect to the lock, because almost as soon as I turned my helmet comm off, the alarm stopped and the app finally showed as connected. So today I get to work, couple the lock, push the button. I also turn on "auto-disable" in the app. later. it starts raining very lightly. I just happen to be walking through the lobby when I can hear the alarm going off. Constantly - would reach the end of the 30 second alarm, briefly pause, and start right back up again, while I'm now standing 3 feet from the bike. I try but fail to connect to the lock with the app. Close the app, restart, check the bluetooth connections, etc, try again, nothing. After about the third time the alarm starts again, it turns off and my phone shows as connected. Nope, I'm done. Like I said, I was hoping for an inexpensive alarm that I could leave on the motorcycle to turn on when I want/need it. And being able to turn it off when I want to should go without saying. If I have to decouple the steel wire from the lock to truly turn it off (which means it will no longer stay on the bike on its own), then it's no better than the two disc alarm locks that I already keep in the top box and use when parking overnight or in sketchy areas. The search continues.

Solid product with a 3.5 star rating but has some issues
This is a solid product that I would currently rate as 3.5 stars but has the potential to be 5 stars. I am pleased with the product. After downloading the app, setup was very easy. But there are two significant opportunities for improvement. PROS: 1. Easy setup - Lock and app (iOS version) are easy to configure and work very well 2. Look & feel - Product design has a nice look and feels solid with the steel braided cable 3. Vibration feature - When enabled the vibration feature is surprisingly sensitive and works even better than expected 4. Good value - Solid product for the price that virtually combines a physical lock and a vibration sensor alarm into one smart device CONS: 1. Beep when locking is too loud - I appreciate the feedback from the device confirming it is indeed locked, but the beeps are just way too loud. When I'm just locking the device, I don't want my neighbors to think the alarm is actually going off. If possible, I would consider lowering the decibels of the lock confirmation beeps or even removing it completely. If the volume can't be lowered, I would rather not have the audio confirmation at all. 2. Vibration feature is automatically disabled when connected to phone via Bluetooth - This is a much bigger issue. The vibration feature is the main reason why I purchased this lock. The feature works great and even the slightest movement triggers the warning and then alarm. However, the vibration feature is only enabled when the phone used to control the lock is NOT within Bluetooth range. As long as the phone is nearby and Bluetooth is enabled, the vibration feature will not work. This is huge a problem for me, mostly at night. Even though the lock is outside my house, and my phone is inside near my bed, the two are still in Bluetooth range and remain connected. This means the vibration feature is disabled. This was such a big issue that I considered returning the product. But my current workaround is to disable Bluetooth on my phone before I go to bed. I'm not sure why the vibration feature was designed to automatically disable when connected to a phone via Bluetooth. This seems like a major design flaw. I would imagine there are a lot of applications where someone would want to secure something outside a building while they are inside but still within Bluetooth range. If the vibration feature is toggled "on" in the app it should always be "on" whenever locked regardless of proximity to a phone. If possible, I would consider removing the link between the vibration feature and Bluetooth connectivity completely. Another option would be to add an "AutoVibration" toggle in the app similar to the "AutoUnlock" toggle that already exists. This would give users some flexibility. I hope to see these issues addressed via a future update to the app. If so, I will gladly update my review and change my rating to 5 stars.

Strong Keyless Lock with LOUD Alarm
Super EZ to use. NO KEY to lock/unlock - just use your phone. App EZ to install & use. Installed the app on my iPod, iPhone, & iPad to have as backup 'keys' for this great cable lock. Cable is stout in size & lock has overall feel of quality ! Would buy again !

Works, but difficult to set up, and only on one phone.
We bought this lock to protect our two E-bikes. Here are my observations after our first trip: 1. I wish the cable were longer. I found that the lock would not reach to thread through all four wheels and two bike frames. I was able to get it through one wheel on each bike and both frames. That left the other two wheels unprotected. 2. The lock requires the use of an iPhone or Android application. That's fine, as that eliminates the need for keys or a combination. The instructions say that you can pair the lock to two phones. We did pair it successfully to both of our phones (one Android and one iPhone), but no matter what we did, we could only get one phone (the second one we paired) to control the lock. Not a problem if we are together, but since it only works on my wife's phone, I won't be able to ride separately and lock my bike up. 3. The lock instructions say it has a vibration sensor, which is supposed to set it off if there is excess movement. This is supposed to detect attempts to move the bikes. I selected this setting in the application, but no matter how hard I jiggled or banged the lock, no alarm was triggered. 4. The lock instructions say that an alarm will be triggered if the cable is cut. We didn't test this for obvious reasons, so can't verify that it works. 5. Initially, we thought that if there were tampering or if the cable was cut, our phones would receive a notification. Unfortunately that is not the case. The pairing between the phone and the lock is a Bluetooth connection. This technology limits the connection to 50 feet if it is original Bluetooth, or 200-300 feet if it is the newer high-powered Bluetooth. 6. Locking and unlocking is a little quirky. You use the app to set it to locked or unlocked. You still need to push a spring-loaded button on the lock to actually open the lock. It just took some getting used to. We ended up using this product along with another lock product to make sure the bikes were completely secured.

Great smart bike lock saved my bike!
I have used this cable lock for more than half a year! I really like it. I have a bunch of cable locks or U-lock. The problem is it is easy to lose the keys when I am riding outside. And when I came back from riding outside, I could misplace it somewhere. Cable lock can not provide protection like this alarmed smart lock. And U-lock is too heavy to me. So this keyless lock is perfect. And it is smart too. After I turned on the "Vibration" in the app, the alarm will only get activated when I am not nearby (or the Bluetooth is not connected). The alarm is very loud just like a car alarm. One time I locked my bike outside of a store, when I came back the store manager told me someone played with my bike and lock. But when he heard the beep sound then he ran away. It saved my bike from stolen.

Amazing Customer Service
Purchase two of these after I had a bike stolen off my truck. They work great and are easy to set up. After about 9 months of use, one of the locks broke. I contacted the seller via email and had a response back within the day. Sent out a new replacement lock without any questions and all I had to do was send a photo of the broken lock. No need to incur the cost of sending it back and no hassle from the seller.

Great product, does what it says it does.
Gives me a peace of mind when I use this lock for my mountain and Road bike. I wouldn't use it for when the bike is in an area that is away from people as the cable somewhat is easy to cut, however the alarm when it's cut is loud and great deterrent when there are people around. Easy to set up. Be careful of the length you order. This length is great, however there are cheaper offers that are way shorter. Overall great product.
