SP-2 Universal Sustain Pedal | Classic Piano-Style Pedal, Universal Compatibility with MIDI Keyboards, Pianos, and Synthesizers

This pedal has been working great for me! I play a lot of different gigs with it and it's been holding up very well. I love that it has good traction too. My old pedal sometimes would slip while I was playing it on certain floors but I haven't had any issues with this one. The feel is super nice - I'd say it has the same resistance as an acoustic piano. It also is a very quiet pedal which is super important for me since I record a lot of videos on keyboard and don't like it when pedal clicking sounds get through. Very sturdy little pedal and I'm sure it will last a long time!

There are so many affordable sustain pedals that are just so cheesy. These are built like tanks, extremely sturdy. And the nice heavy piano-style pedal action makes control so comfortable and natural. The oldest one I have is about 15 years old and it works perfectly. Also the polarity switch ensures it'll work with any device with a 1/4" TS sustain jack. I highly recommend this for anything that has a 'sustain'/'hold' port.

I really like this Universal Sustain Pedal. It has a nice, piano-style feel, responds smoothly, and works well with my digital piano. The build quality overall is solid.However, the grip on the bottom definitely needs improvement. It’s always slippery on my carpet, and I have to stop frequently to reposition it. Better traction would make a huge difference.Overall, it’s a good pedal with great functionality, but the lack of stability on carpet holds it back.

This is a great pedal. The feel is perfect. The operation is correct, and it has a switch to change from Normally Open to Normally Closed, so it's adaptable to all keyboards.It is NOT a "half-damping" pedal. A half-damping pedal ALWAYS has 3 contacts on the plug; this one clearly has only two. If you want half-damping you need to get a pedal that explicitly claims half-damping.For gigging, especially if you need multiple pedals, there are lighter ones (I like the On-Stage pedal for my gig bag.) If weight isn't a concern this one is fine.I bought this to donate to a blues jam I frequent, and it's held up to a couple years of abuse.Failures: I've been playing keyboards for over 40 years and frankly, ALL pedals fail eventually. The old leaf springs would fail by one leaf breaking off due to repetitive use. (Gee, after only 5 or 10 years of regular use!) The current ones use carbon contacts, which can get schmutz on the contacts (especially if beer is spilled on it.) That can be fixed but it's finicky; simpler just to buy another and keep your beer away, lesson learned. For every pedal made, you will find some 1 star reviews due to this. I'm not aware of any that use optical or mercury switches that would last forever, and even if they existed I wouldn't bother paying extra.If you're a gigging pro or even a serious amateur like me, you carry an extra pedal.However, one flaw with this pedal is the strain relief on the cord as it comes out of the pedal: it's not up to pro use, sadly. (Unless they've changed it in two years or so.) I had to open it up, cut off the damaged cable, re-solder it, and add better strain relief, so that the blues jam could continue with a decent piano sustain pedal. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.

This pedal works as advertised for my Roland Go Keys. I'm a beginner so didn't want to spend much. It looks nice and well-built. I'm finding that it slides a bit on my wood floor, but that might be due to my (lack of) technique. Overall a solid choice for the price.

Works great for my yamaha! Just make sure you turn the keyboard off before plugging in or it won't detect it.

I'm going to make this quick because it is simply that good! I have an older model digital synthesizer: Suzuki SP-40e. I wanted a sustain pedal and the first one I bought cost about $5.00 less than this M-Audio pedal. However, regardless of what I did, (using every variation offered in several websites), I could only get the sustain effect when the pedal was in the ‘released’ position.That first pedal had an "no/nc" switch, (as does the M-Audio), The switch would not work in the “no” position, only the “nc”.I noted in the reviews of that pedal as well as many others, that the same trouble was being experienced. Some people were able to get the pedal to work by using one of the 'polarity reversing tricks' that can be found on line. As I said, I used them all and variations of each with no success.So I sent the pedal back and decided to look at the M-Audio Pedal. The reviews were all 'home-runs' (that already was unusual) so I bought it. The instant I picked it up from the box, I knew this was a much higher quality pedal than the one I bought earlier for $5.00 less!The weight and action of the pedal was outstanding and of course, it worked, as it should from the very first moment I plugged it into the Suzuki keyboard. The M-Audio Pedal came with a very high quality 1/4" jack & cable. It was obviously well made and engineered.The unit was boxed with two layers of protection covering the high-polished, steel pedal. One seems to be designed to be placed on the pedal for storage protection. In fact, it appears that you can leave the ‘scratch/scuff protector’ snapped in place on the pedal when you're only practicing and remove it for those more 'formal' engagements, thereby reducing the possible scuffing of the pedal unnecessarily.As I said earlier, the action on the pedal excellent and comparable to one that can cost 10 times as much! The "NO"/"NC" switch is discreetly hidden under the pedal instead of on the side as was many of the other brands. In addition, M-Audio offers multi-pedal units that have multi-function applications and all at an extremely good price.Don't waste your time as I did, trying to save $5 or $10 bucks. Just buy this M-Audio pedal and you'll never look back!5-Stars!Rich

1. Came promptly.2. Well packed.3. It had the same plug as the one that came with my brand new Yamaha p45. I ditched that one. How can Yamaha make such inferior foot pedal when the keyboard is so superior in every other way is beyond me.4. Im glad I got this for less price than the Yamaha brand. Well that's because I did a bit of research but you don't have to now. If you have a p45 this is a perfect match.5. The feel? Its like stepping on a real pedal on your acoustic piano. The spring gives you just the appropriate resistance when you step on it. I cant describe it but I am familiar with the feel because I have been playing real piano for years. The clearance of the pedal from its base is about the same as the ones in real piano.6. I like the white silicon cover on the pedal. It protects the metal and gives me a good grip when Im using it.7. No slippage when Im using it and the whole thing stays in place. It has a heavy feel and is sturdy so it does not move from where you have it.8. Well made. Thanks for a good product.9. The price to me is perfect. I wont buy any other pedal below that because I like to focus on playing the keyboard and can't be bothered by technical interruptions.
