Spigen Ultra Hybrid Designed for Nexus 5 Case (2013) - Black

I've been using this case for more than a month and it is already one of the best cases that I have seen for a phone. This case fits my Nexus 5 perfectly. Unlike other cases that I've used, this case can be removed easily when you want to take it off but it will not fall off. You just have to pull a side off of the phone and take the phone out. Since owning it, the edges have not weakened like some silicone or rubber cases that I've used in the past. The phone looks good in the case. I like to take my phones out of their cases when I'm at home because I prefer them without cases but this is the first case that I keep on constantly. The build quality of this case is good. The sides are made of a soft touch plastic and the plastic back feels nice. The case doesn't add much to the thickness and weight of the phone. It actually makes the phone feel more substantial in the hand. All of the ports are easy to get to and the USB opening is large enough to plug in different sized USB cords. NFC also works through the case. I have dropped the phone from about two feet off the ground on hard carpet and the phone didn't have any damage. There are a few minor issues that I've encountered. The clear plastic back does scratch a little and it received a few thin scratches after a few days of use. Lint occasionally collects around the USB port opening and becomes visible through the clear back. The volume and power buttons are more sensitive to pressure through the case then without it and when I first started using the case, I kept adjusting the volume just by holding the case. However, none of these are deal breakers. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the case and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a Nexus 5 case that offers good protection yet still keeps the looks of the phone.

This might be my first review ever (don't remember), but I think some of the ratings are unfair. I have a white Nexus 5 and ordered the gray Ultra Hybrid case. I also have the official Google Nexus 5 Bumper Case to compare with. OVERALL: Just as with the Nexus 5, this case as an overall value is 5 stars. It's cheap, relatively high quality, and comes with bonuses which include a smooth and clear screen protector and some cutouts/templates to decorate the clear window of the case with). VS OEM BUMPER: This case is better than the official Bumper Case for many reasons. 1) Price. This is $10 vs bumper at $35. 2) Comfort. This OEM bumper case is definitely high quality, but it's rather large, it's awkward to hold because it gets larger near the back and has some sharp edges. The Ultra Hybrid is smaller with flat edges and tapering and that makes it much more comfortable to hold. It has the same texture on the edges as the bumper case. 3) Buttons. The naked phone has sharp and uncomfortable buttons. Also, my phone has a loose volume rocker which rattles easily, so a case is useful at holding it in place. The OEM bumper case lacks any give or response from the buttons, making them a mushy and a little difficult to press or to know you pressed it. With the Ultra Hybrid, the buttons are "larger", easier to press, have give and a tactile click. The Ultra Hybrid makes the phone better than the naked phone! I like the screen protector too as it is very, very clear. I usually get the wet apply protectors which have a rubbery feel. This feels nice and smooth. However, it is less forgiving when applying. I have a few air bubbles that I'll have to live with, since I can't see them when the screen is on. It would be nice if Spigen SGP included 2 screen protectors and just one back design cutout thing that most people won't use.. People go the clear back to show off the back of their Nexus 5. Additionally, I would say everyone should get the black case. To me, the gray looked better in the pictures, but I think black would look even better on my phone. I say this because the edges of the case wrap around the front. Black probably looks nicer as it blends in a bit with the black screen and bezel when viewed directly from the front, while the gray sticks out as a thin border. Also, with white, the black would have more striking contrast, just like the naked phone does with its front and back.

Item was delivered within estimated dates, so very happy about that. It fits my Nexus 5 perfectly, it's light in weight and feels quite nice in the hand and has no sharp edges or anything like that. You could easily mistake this cover as the body of the actual phone, which is a plus to me. There are two printed "inlays" you can use in the back of the cover, although you don't have to use them if you don't want to. I quite like them and so I'm using them. The back is clear hard plastic, and has a cut-out to fit around the camera, which it matches up with perfectly (in fact the back cover is very slightly proud of the camera, thus protecting it a litle more). Similarly, the buttons, mike, speaker etc. line up properly. The case raises the phone slightly above a surface, because it has a small lip on the screen side, and tiny "feet" on the back. This means that the screen or camera or back of the case won't touch a flat surface when lying on it. There are protective plastic "sheets" on BOTH sides of BOTH the back cover and the screen protector. Be sure to take these off. Over all, it has a look and feel of being well made and well thought out. Very happy.

Super Case!! Firstly, I always review a product after using it and i am using this case for past 5 months. Secondly, its worth every penny. Protects the phone you love. I dont want to spend extra 7.5k in case my screen breaks and this case ensures that. Even after 5 months, if i take the case out, the phone looks like a brand new one. No scratches on the curves and the buttons are super smooth. No scratches on the back panel as well. Very good build quality.

tempistica: mi è arrivata dopo 3 giorni dal pagamento. contenuto: il pacco(ritirato in posta) era ben conservato. al suo interno ho trovato: la cover, una pellicola per lo schermo(la pellicola è provvista solo del buco della cassa(quello centrale). mancano i buchi della fotocamera e del sensore, ma tutto funziona come prima, non vengono pregiudicate le funzionalità del telefono) inoltre ho trovato due "cartoncini"(millimetrici) da mettere tra il cellulare e la parte trasparente della cover per abbellire la cover(quindi si può decidere se lasciare il retro trasparente, oppure mettere uno dei cartoncini che presentano vari temi(io ho ingranaggi e skyline) infine c'è dentro il certificato di originalità del prodotto. funzionalità della cover: la cover protegge: retro(la fotocamera e i sensori sul retro sono incavati), bordi, tasti. lo schermo è "protetto" dallo spessore della cover. quindi potete appoggiarlo a faccia in giù e lo schermo non tocca il piano d'appoggio. materiale: il retro sembra essere in plastica, i bordi sono fatti in un materiale al tempo stesso duro, ma che si riesce a schiacciare(qualcosa di simile alla gomma). difficoltà di "montaggio": la cover calza a pennello il telefono. non ho avuto nessuna difficoltà nell'inserire il telefono al suo interno. prima di inserirlo ricordatevi di rimuovere la pellicola che copre il fondo interno della cover. non ho trovato nessuna difficoltà; è alla protata di tutti. impressione finale: ottima cover, da un grande senso di sicurezza e di compattezza in mano. al tatto non è sciovolosa.aumenta di poco lo spessore del telefono; un'inezia per la funzione che svolge. i tasti, nonostante siano coperti, rispondono benissimo. sono felice dell'acquisto.

Great case. Arrived a day earlier than expected, which is convenient. The case by itself is awesome, it has a firm tight fit on my phone and the buttons are unique, as well as the cutouts (for the auxiliary jack, micro USB, camera, etc.) are as precise as they can get. It does make your phone significantly larger but it won't be a problem since I have huge hands. For people with small hands, I recommend not getting this case and instead look towards the slimmer kinds of cases. The graphics have a nice design though I hoped I would have gotten two different colours (I got one with a city graphic and one with rusted gears. They are different, but the general colour for both of them is grey. It would have been better if I had received a grey coloured one and a blue coloured one, for example. I'm not sure if there even are other varieties, but oh well). I have not tried out the screen protector that came in the box with it because I have my own so I don't have any comments for that. In terms of protection, I have performed a huge risk and purposely dropped my phone all the way down my basement hardwood stairs, making sure that my poor phone bounces off every single step (to test the case, of course. I was definitely not trying to break my phone). I picked up my phone, and it's as if that staircase "incident" didn't even happen. So you can say that this case protects the phone extremely well which is what I expected from Spigen. Overall, I fully recommend this case for anyone with a Nexus 5 that wants style and protection combined for a good price.

nexus5を囲むまわりは、ゴムのように少し硬いけどもやわらかい素材です。 最初は、ここがふにゃふにゃになるのでは・・・と思っていましたが、２ヶ月経過して、まだフィット感は健在です。 また、背面は透明なので、傷がつきやすいのでは？と思っていましたが、今現在傷がついておらず、キレイな状態を保っています。 毎日の使用は、ポケットに入れたり、机の上においたりと、普通の使い方をしています。 そして、意外と大事だと思ったのは、画面側の縁。この縁のおかげで落としたときに画面に傷がつく事なく助かりました。 ですが、この縁がしっかりしている以上、どうしても液晶保護フィルムが少しでもずれていると、そのずれている部分が縁に押されて浮いてきます。 そこだけ注意ですね。
