Bolts were too short
The vents are well made. My complaint is that the bolts are two short on my latest order. At most you have about an 1/8" if both pieces of metal are compressed fully. The bolts should have be a 1/4" longer. A previous order I had received I was able to install by myself. This latest order I had to have someone pushing the bolt in and I only had about an 1/8" to barely thread the bolts.

High quality shipping container air vents
I just received these shipping container air vents for review and to put into service, and I couldn't be any more stoked about these vents than I am right now. Right out of the package you can tell that these are high quality air vents. These are stainless steel and are a two piece plate set. The outer plate is the actual ventilation cover and the second plate is a debris field and insect prevention with extremely small holes. If that tail is smaller than a carpenter ant's arse, it's not getting in. These ventilation plates will definitely allow good air flow to elevate the high heat temperatures. If one thing we know in shipping, these shipping containers get blasted hot inside. Installation of these vents is pretty easy. I say that just in case you don't feel confident enough to install them. I get it, but it really is! Value for these stainless steel air vents, especially for being a specialty product, are a fair deal. ----------‐‐---------------------------- Tools needed: Goggles (Mandatory! No questions!) 4 ½" Grinder with metal blade/or cutting torch. Marker/Pencil Drill Optional: Although these come with screws, personally, I would forego them and use rivets. Rivet gun Also, this set comes with superglue, but to water proof this set from the top, a good quality clear caulking is best.

Flushmounts perfectly to the container corrugations
I have a shipping container that i use for storage and in summer it can get hot. I built a roof to help keep the heat down, but i realized i needed some airflow to further regulate the temperature. The two vents arrived quickly and were packaged well to prevent damage. I really like the inclusion of the bug screen. Where i live, keeping those creepy crawlies out is a must. To my surprise the bug screen was a heavy duty metal mesh cut to match the vents and i don't see anything chewing their way through it. Installation was straight forward, i used the vent as a template marking the size and position on the container and noting where i wanted to mount the screws. I then started by making a hole with a drill and then switched over to a Sawzall with a metal cutting blade. An angle grinder would also have worked. I mounted the vent to the outside of the container and the bug screen on the inside using the included bolts and washers, but you could probably use both outside. There were no instructions in the box so i assume either way is fine? There was some superglue in the package but i wasn't sure how or even if that was needed so i passed on it. The external photos show how i mounted it on opposite sides of the container. Overall I'm very happy with this vent set and plan to use it again should i get another container. I've seen others with a similar design but higher price points so this seems like a decent value option.

Excellent Ventilation Solution for Shipping Containers in Hot Climates
I purchased this air vent kit for a shipping container that I use for storage, and it has made a noticeable difference—especially here in South Florida where the heat and humidity can get extreme. Before installing these vents, the container would trap heat and moisture, making it uncomfortable and not ideal for stored items. The passive ventilation design works really well. Once installed, it allows hot air to escape and improves airflow without needing electricity or fans. This has helped reduce heat buildup and condensation inside the container, which is exactly what I was looking for. The galvanized steel construction feels solid and durable, and it’s clearly made for outdoor use. Installation was straightforward, and the vents fit well on the container walls. I also like that it’s a 2-pack, so you can create proper cross-ventilation for better airflow. If you’re using a shipping container for storage, a workspace, or any setup in a hot or humid climate, this is a great upgrade. Simple, effective, and well worth it for temperature and moisture control.

The Vents I Didn't Know I Couldn't Live Without
I was in the final stages of a shipping container buildout here in Texas, feeling pretty proud of my work. I had the insulation planned, the framing was almost done, and I was ready to start on the interior walls. Then, while randomly browsing Amazon for project supplies, I stumbled upon these shipping container vents. I had never even considered that a sealed metal box in the Texas heat might need some air circulation. It was a face-palm moment. How could I have almost finished this thing without them? I ordered the kit immediately, and it arrived quickly. The vents are made of sturdy, galvanized steel and feel very well-made. They are not flimsy pieces of metal; they feel like they are designed to be a permanent and durable part of the container. The installation was surprisingly straightforward. I marked my spots, cut the holes with a grinder, and bolted them into place. They fit perfectly and created a clean, professional-looking finish on the container walls. Now that they are installed, the difference is incredible. Before, the inside of the container would get incredibly hot and stuffy, and I was already noticing some condensation forming on the ceiling in the cooler mornings. With these vents providing cross-flow ventilation, the air inside feels much fresher, and the temperature is significantly more stable. It has completely solved the heat and moisture issue before it became a major problem. I have no idea how I got so far into my project without knowing these existed, but I am so glad I found them. If you are building anything with a shipping container, especially in a hot or humid climate, these are not optional. They are essential. Five stars for saving my project from becoming a rusty sweatbox.

Awesome upgrade for your Conex
I use a Conex (shipping container) to store lumber, tools and power equipment for my business. Containers come standard with four upper-corner vents designed to release trapped heat, but those aren't effective against humidity and they only work when interior temps are higher than external. This kit, which is made from very high-quality materials, adds two weather- and insect-proof vents that can be placed on the lower wall of your container, forming a convection pattern that moves air even when temps are moderate. Installation is simple, but you will need an angle grinder with cutting discs to make the holes in the conex walls, and a drill to open holes for the mounting bolts. Allow about a half-hour per vent.

Useful for container owners looking to improve ventilation without powered fans.
I installed these vents on a storage container to help reduce heat buildup and condensation. They provide passive airflow without moving parts and feel sturdy once mounted. What worked well: Durable galvanized steel construction Helps improve air circulation inside the container Simple, low-maintenance design What could be better: Requires careful measuring and cutting during installation Who this is best for: Useful for container owners looking to improve ventilation without powered fans.
