This gentle story, beautifully illustrated by the legendary J. P. Miller, was out of print for many years but is now back to delight a new generation of Golden Book fans. A favorite with my two year old grandson
I've been requested to read this simple board book over and over again to my two year old grandson. He likes to name the animals and plants in the pictures. The artwork and simple story line of a little mouse visiting her animal friends is just right. As the adult reader, I can embellish the story line just a little ad lib, which is fun for both of us. This one is a winner.

The was the first hard book I brought my kids. So 28 years later I brought it for my grandson. He loves this book and the others in the collection.

Toddlers favorite book
I bought the whole set of books from this series, but this is my toddler’s favorite book(which is surprising, because she loves cats and the cat book isn’t her favorite). She wants to read this one EVERY night. The theme is the 4 seasons and she loves to practice counting the things on every page and name the colors of the butterflies. It’s got beautiful illustrations and is perfect for the Charlotte Mason type of homeschoolers.

Mailed in thin plastic, got crushed
I love the book. It was one of my favorite growing up and now I get to buy it for my grand baby. 4 stars because it was shipped in a thin plastic mailer and it got crushed.

Vintage treasure
Wonderful story, originally published in 1964. The adventures of a little mouse who meets a number of other animals in her neighbourhood. Simple sentences and large images that help understand the new words, perfect for two-year-olds. I think the story has a lovely warm feel to it and ends with bedtime for the little mouse who cuddles up in her warm nest to sleep.
