Review: Cuisinart 10 cup coffee maker - Cuisinart personal Brewer 10 cup is a good bargain for the money. Makes a good cup of coffee and you can set it and forget it. Review: Great product, brew temp could be a bit hotter. - This is a great coffeemaker. I bought it for my boat because I liked that the carafe was not breakable and did not need a heat element. I would rate it 5 stars in every respect except that I wish that immediately after brewing the first cup of coffee was hotter. I have to give it 15 seconds in the microwave before it is the right temperature for me.

"Brew Pause" and programmable brewing time make this worth it!
This Cuisinart coffee maker would be perfect for an office break room, or a family of coffee lovers. It is simple to use and produces a nice quality brew each time. It has a little more weight and size than your overage household coffee maker, but it is durable and really nice quality. Unlike single cup coffee makers, this one brews until all the water in the reservoir is gone. So if you fill it to 50oz., it will keep brewing until the reservoir is empty. Unlike a lot of other coffee makers that brew big pots, this maker actually has a removable reservoir that makes adding water that much easier. Even though it has different brewing options, it is not overwhelming and it is extremely easy to operate. Whether you like your coffee strong, or you prefer it iced, the options are available and easy to operate. One feature that I absolutely love is โBrew Pauseโ function. When you are running late and donโt have time to wait for the entire pot to brew it is no longer an issue with this coffee maker. Just remove the carafe and the coffee stops flowing until you replace it. Luckily I donโt have to use this function often, because I can just set the brew time to automatically start making the coffee right before it is time for me to wake up. I just prep the machine the night before and the whole family wakes up to a freshly brewed pot of coffee. I also love the fact that I donโt spend the whole day at working trying to remember if I turned the coffee pot off, or if I will come home to burnt crusty coffee in the bottom of my pot. This coffee maker does not use the hot plate at the bottom to keep the coffee warm. Instead, the thermal carafe is insulated enough to keep the coffee hot and fresh for hours. I canโt tell you exactly how long it lasts because we are a โcoffee loving householdโ and the pot is empty within a few hours. All I know is anytime someone pours a cup, it has been hot and fresh. Filling the coffee filter basket may take some getting used to if you are like me and accustomed to either the pods or the baskets that you just pull straight out. Either way it is not that it is difficult, it is just different than what I am used to. Overall, I think this is a wonderful coffee maker and I absolutely love everything about it. It is nice quality, durable, and the black and stainless steel color goes wonderfully with the rest of my kitchen appliances!

Great for under a cabinet
Much more under cabinet friendly. Brews good coffee. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours without burning.

I really wanted to like this coffee maker!!
I have owned Cuisinart coffee makers in the past and they have always lasted a long time. I decided to replace my last one because I broke the glass carafe. While searching for a new carafe I came across the Personal Brew Coffee maker. It caught my eye because I was interested in a thermal carafe (less likely to break.) After pricing some thermal carafes, I decided to just purchase an entirely new coffeemaker, partly because it seemed dumb to use a thermal carafe on my old coffee maker with a heat plate. I was also intrigued by the "Iced Coffee Function" that was advertised. There was a lot to like about this coffee maker, and I really wanted to like it, but it just did not live up to my expectations. I liked the design (like the integrated scoop) and size. Some reviewers commented that it takes up a lot of space, but it was quite similar to my previous Cuisinart with a glass carafe. The clock feature was easy to read. (The LED numbers on my last one were never bright enough to read.) I liked the control knob in addition to the buttons, and it seemed simple to get a pot of coffee brewing. I liked how the lid on the carafe screwed on securely. I liked the removable water reservoir, because it could be cleaned if necessary. Also, the carafe was easy to clean due to its wide mouth. Unfortunately, there were enough negative features that I ended up returning it. First and foremost, I was surprised it had a heating plate! That seemed totally pointless for a coffee maker with a thermal carafe! It's a waste of electricity and personally, I think that coffee retains its flavor better when kept in a carafe versus continued โcookingโ on a hotplate. Plus I don't have to worry about the auto turn-off malfunctioning. Worst of all, it made the bottom of the carafe hot (as I discovered somewhat painfully!) The other big disappointment was the "Iced Coffee Function." I didn't have any expectation that it would produce cold, iced coffee, but was curious how it worked. It was a little difficult to figure out why Cuisinart needed a separate function button for this, but I believe it just makes the coffee a little stronger to off-set dilution from the ice. What seemed weird to me was that the manual said I should fill the carafe to a certain line with ice. (I never did find that line on the carafe, but the manual did say it should be less than half full of ice.) I know that the insulation space means the plate is not really heating the coffee and the ice isn't affecting the hot plate, but I am just kinda fixated on the stupidity of the combination of those 2 features!! So, my search for the perfect coffee maker continues. In the meantime, I am brewing archaically with a stove top percolator! Tasty coffee, but it definitely takes longer to brew and longer to clean!

Versatile, easy to use, and makes great coffee โ both hot and iced
First, the coffee tastes really good. The bold setting definitely makes a difference โ the coffee comes out stronger and richer compared to the regular setting. I mostly use the bold setting in the morning and it wakes me up just right. The iced coffee button is what sold me on this machine. I set my coffee glass with a full cup of ice and hit "Over Ice" and it brews a stronger, more concentrated coffee that doesn't get watery when it hits the ice. It actually tastes like iced coffee shop quality, and I've made it for guests who were impressed. The programmable timer is super convenient. I set it before bed for 6:30 AM and wake up to fresh coffee already brewed and waiting in the carafe. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for several hours without that burnt taste you get from leaving it on a hot plate. I've had coffee stay hot until mid-morning with no problem. The water reservoir at the back is removable which is a small thing but makes a huge difference. I can just take it off, fill it at the sink, and put it back. No more trying to pour water into the machine under a cabinet. Cleaning is easy too. The carafe opening is wide so I can get my hand inside to scrub it. The brew basket swings out, and there's a self-clean button that runs a cycle with just water. A few things to keep in mind: The machine is a bit bigger than I expected. It takes up a noticeable spot on the counter, so measure your space first. Overall, for $99.95 I think this is a really solid coffee maker. It does everything I need โ hot coffee, iced coffee, strong coffee, programmable, and a thermal carafe. If you have the counter space for it, I would definitely recommend it.
