Can this be connected to a computer for mixed mic input?

Hi thanks for asking! This can be connected to a computer as long as you use a 6.5mm to 3.5mm adapter on top of the audio cable. But the volume will be low and the result will not be as good as connecting it to amp/speaker. We will suggest you use a mixer/preamp in between the system and the computer to get better result. I want to connect 2 separate speakers to the microphones. If I buy a second unit with the same frequency will the two units pick up on the same mics?

Does this system need to be hooked up to a mixer as well as an amplifier? If so, does anyone have recommendations as to what mixers/amps work well?

Yes. This is a wireless mic station only. I purchased a Behringer XENYX 1204 USB Mixer and the hook up was easy. You will need to run the mixer to an amplifier. I use an old Panasonic home theater system as the amp, and it blows the windows out. But any good amp would do. I also recommend you spend a few more bucks and get the Behringer Virtualizer 3D Multi-Effects Engine Model FX2000. This plays well with the MIxer and creates amazing voice FX. The XENYX and Virtualizer are both available on Amazon.
