Quality Boot Stretcher- It Works! :-)
HOUNDSBAY Bloodhound Professional Western Cowboy Boot Stretcher for Men - size small: This is a quality product. I have used the boot stretcher to stretch out certain areas inside my new Dan Post pair of boots. The boots fit fairly well new out of the box but I am using them to C&W dance and developed blisters after the first few times I danced in them. I decided a boot stretcher might do the trick and looked through the ones currently available online on Amazon (as of March 2025). Even though the Houndsbay boot stretcher was a bit more expensive I was going for quality that would last. I wanted one with a hardwood insert and metal parts, not plastic that might deteriorate over the years. I don't go through a lot of cowboy boots, but I can see buying another pair every 4-6 years depending on how well they hold up. I wasn't exactly sure which size stretcher to order since my boot size varies depending on the manufacturer (Men's 9, 9.5 or even 10!) but my newest boots are size 9 so I went with the size small stretcher. I'm glad I went with the small and not the medium since the stretcher is a tight fit in my boots. Add on one of the stainless steel buttons to target a specific area and the fit gets even tighter. If I'd purchased the medium stretcher I likely would not have been able to insert it all of the way into the toe box. My tentative recommendation if you're like me and have a boot size that is sort of on the border between one size boot stretcher and another, go with the smaller size especially if you plan to use the metal buttons to stretch out a specific location within the boot. The main problem I was trying to correct was that my right, second smallest toe's knuckle was being rubbed raw because the boot was too tight at that specific location. I put one of the three metal buttons (the smaller, elongated button) onto the stretcher using one of the pre-drilled holes, inserted the stretcher and turned the crank while pushing on the wood to position the button at the spot I thought was causing the blister. Cranking open the stretcher pushed the metal button into the leather and stretched it out over the span of 48 hours. I increased the stretch by cranking the stretcher open even more over that two day period. After removing the stretcher I tried on the boot and while it did stretch it out the button wasn't exactly in the right spot so I had to redo the process a few more times, repositioning the button's placement on the stretcher and within the boot to get it to stretch the correct area. It worked! I've been dancing a few times since and no more blisters! There's a bit of trial and error experimenting involved to stretch out the correct location in a boot, but overall it's not a difficult process just a little time consuming. It sure beats getting painful blisters! lol I have noticed that the fit of my right boot is not only a lot more comfortable because my toe isn't going to develop a blister, but the overall fit is better because the toe box and area towards the front half of my foot has been widened slightly due to the stretcher. You might want to keep that factor in mind while using the stretcher so you don't make the overall fit too loose. Hope my review helps. I was NOT paid or given a free boot stretcher to write this review. I purchased it myself at full price and have written this review to help others out.

This “boot stretcher” REALLY WORKS!!!
I have wide feet to begin with, and the Ariat boots I bought I ordered in extra wide. Everyone’s feet are both a little different, and my right boot was a little tight and uncomfortable when I walked. I really love these boots and was trying to figure out what, if anything, I could do to make them feel better so I asked Google. One of the answers I got was to use a “boot stretcher” which I didn’t even know was a thing. Went to Amazon which is where I found this. I read the reviews and hoped it would help, so I ordered it. I was impressed with the quality of it, and loved the fact that it had metal “plugs” that you could place on the body of the boot stretcher to give you the ability to stretch areas around your bunions and corns (if you have them) to stretch those trouble spots to target the areas where it hurts the most. I’ve used it mostly in my right boot, which was causing the most discomfort, and a few times in my left boot. This really works, and far exceeded my expectations. The instructions say you might need to use it a few times to get the results you need, so I hoped that they were right, and they were. I spent a lot for my boots and would have been really disappointed if I couldn’t wear them, but I’ll be damned if this wasn’t the best investment in comfort I could make for my feet. Just like any “new” boots they are taking a while to break in, but I can actually wear them and not wince in pain when I walk. It’s a well made product and I gave it “5 stars” because it really works. You might look at the price and wonder if it’s worth it, but I now have a pair of boots that I can wear and enjoy. So that makes what I paid for it worth every penny. I can also know that when I buy another pair of boots in the future I won’t be as nervous about the possibility of them being a little tight.

Solid made boot stretcher that works great!
The Houndsbay bloodhound boot stretcher is VERY solid and well made. I had a cheap plastic one before and it was very hard to turn the handle, it would get stuck and you would have to wrestle with it. The mechanism on the bloodhound is heavy metal and turns easily. The buttons to add to position for bunions are also heavy metal. I would say my only complaint, and it’s a small one, is that it doesn’t go as far into the toe of my boot as I wanted/needed. I bought the small women’s size and it still is tricky to get it far enough into the boot before I start to crank it open. So far I have adjusted both right and left on one pair of boots and I can definitely tell the difference! Next up, my amazing Lucchese boots which haven’t been on my feet in 10 years, definitely looking forward to adding those back into my wardrobe! My only beef is not with Houndsbay but Amazon. When I first ordered the boot stretcher I received a battered box with the items rolling around loose inside, no packing, and the instruction booklet was bent. Obviously a used item. I returned it in exchange for another and fortunately a brand new item was shipped to me. I don’t know how Amazon deals with people returning beat up used stuff, but I don’t like being the recipient of these items. For $70 I expect something new.

Works great! I mean I bought two of them! Don’t give up on your boots!
This boot stretcher seriously saved a pair of boots I almost gave up on. They were just too tight across the instep and toes, and no amount of wearing them around the house was breaking them in. Enter this tool—it did exactly what it promised. The quality is excellent. The wooden form feels solid, and the crank mechanism is smooth and strong. I especially liked the little metal inserts that let you stretch specific pressure points. After two days of use, the boots now fit like they were made for me. If you’ve got cowboy boots that are a little too snug, don’t ditch them—stretch them. This thing works and feels built to last.

Not durable for the price
I’ve only had it 6 months and only used a couple times and is already broken. For the price it should last longer and be more durable. I tried reaching out to customer service as they say the hey have a lifetime warranty however they have not reached back out to me in regards of fixing or replacing. Don’t waist your money on these the plastic ones do better and are half the price

ONE STRETCHER PER BOX, HARD ON HAND TO TIGHTEN/EXPAND THE STRETCHER
The first thing that surprised me was that there is only ONE stretcher in the box - that's on me to a large degree - I saw it listed among a number of other brands that had TWO, and I thought I was paying a little extra for quality and so bought this item. Turns out I was paying a lot extra (smile). The other thing is that the handle one uses to expand the two halves down in the boot is very short and is painful to the palm to get tight. I suppose it might be to keep someone from applying too much torque and splitting the boot upper from the sole. It fits my size 14 ostrich skin boot, and since I am not in a hurry to go kick up my heels or do some scootin' at the Broken Spoke, having to stretch one boot for a week, then do the other boot for a week ain't gonna kill me. Again, my fault I didn't realize unlike others listed that this one doesn't come 2 per box. I'm going with three stars mainly because it hurts my hand to use it. I would not buy this particular one again.

Great purchase!
I bought a pair of size 7 1/2 cowboy boots and they were a bit snug. So I bought this along with some leather spray and it’s working wonderfully. A couple more

Étireur de bottes
Je chausse du 36 et la partie en métal ne va pas dans le talon c’est trop long. La partie en bois par contre entre très bien dans la botte.
