Considering this is mainly for Emergencies and you may not need to use at all until an emergency, when should you check and replace the batteries?

I check flashlight to make sure battery is still good. 😉

Would it be difficult to set off the alarm if attacked? Seems it would be hard to pull a pin out if in a panic.

A slight tug and it comes out easily without force. But yet doesn’t come out easily enough to fall out on its own.... if that makes sense. I carry mine on a clasp on the outside of my purse.

Is the pin attached to the unit so when you pull it you dont lose it
