A five star Arduino
This is a great addition to the Arduino range. The product title headlines the WiFi capabilities and these are excellent. Attaching to WiFi is no more complex than with any consumer device. The WiFi libraries available mean that you can send and receive packets to and from remote servers. Your code can interact with Web Services using HTTP and SSL plus the device can act an an HTTP server. This last feature opens up the potential to provide an HTML based User Interface (UI) for Arduino based projects. I have run code to test and exploit all of these features. There is also a Real Time Clock and this has an alarm feature as well as keeping track of time. Most of the pins have multiple capabilities so there is no difficulty arranging external interrupts, PWM or analog input/output as required by any project. The processor clock runs at 48Mhz which is fast for an Arduino and there is an adequate supply of Flash and SRAM memory. Why only 4 stars from me? One star lost on "value for money". The nearest equivalent Raspberry Pi (the Pi Zero W) has a faster processor, more memory, a handful more GPIO pins and more physical interfaces and is one third the price.

Great hardware but limited by Arduino site
Used this to do the excellent Udemy course and make a couple of things. All works well, but the Arduino site is limited to 2 things and 10 variables. SO I paid 70 dollars for a Maker subscription to supposedly get infinite variables and more things. All I got was a receipt. All complaints acknowledged by the automatic system but never acted on. Maybe the site will one day mature, but until then this can only be considered for learning, for reliable IoT go somewhere else.

Je possèdait une carte Arduino Uno, et je voulait me lancer dans le monde des objet connecté. Reçu rapidement, bien emballée, et fonctionne très bien. Je recommande !

i’ve gotten other brands and other models but this is lovely! it has built in wifi, both analog and digital pins although not as many as like a mega2560, or really even a pico, but the libraries are there and it’s super easy to use compared to like micropython and special ides

For the record, the CPU on this board, if you want to read about it, is a SAM D21GxxA in the 48-pin TQFP package, where the "xx" is some number, possibly 18. This might be helpful if you want to look at the data sheet, which is called SAM_D21_DA1_Family_DataSheet_DS40001882F.pdf (you should easily be able to find it from this). This actual pinout of the chip is on p.22. Two distinct SPI interfaces are used on the board. One is the documented Arduino one, and the other is used to control the "NINA" chip which is an FPGA with most of the other board features in it. The WiFi feature has worked well for us, no issues. When I scan for networks, it doesn't pick up as many "fringe" (distant) networks as my Mac does, but that's to be expected with no external antenna. All in all a cool board; just be aware when you integrate with it that the logic signals are all 3.3 volts. I used an HCT-family buffer (74HCT244) to drive 5v logic. I plan on using this board again.
