will this work on a compresser

I bought this switch for a craftsmen shop vac and it fit perfect. When I was shopping for a replacement switch, I tried to match it to what was the original on the vac. The shop vac is 120 volts. This switch looks like it would work on 120 volt or 220 volt application. I'm not that good with electrical problems. I'm not sure if this answer will help you.

Some say that it's not lighted. I am wondering if they wired it incorrectly. I want a lighted switch. Anyone care to chime in with your experience?

This is a DPST 4Pin Rocker Switch with 30A 250VAC rating, heavy duty version. And this switch with lamp that with 110V/220V rating. So the lamp can't be lighted if you use 12V/24V power, You should use 110V to power the switch lamp.

I'm used to 3 prong lighted switches, but this is a 4, does anyone have a wiring diagram they can share for use in automotive applicatiions?

This 4PIN switch is double pole type, and the neon lamp is on the 2 middle terminals. So you can use 3 prong of 4. But the automotive applications always use the switch with 12V/24V lamp, but this switch is with 220V lamp. So this switch cann't lighted under 12V/24V. This supplier also have other type switches can used in automotive well, you can have a check.
