Really good adhesion to bare metal. The paint went on well but was very dusty. The paint also had a slight texture to it once dry. It sanded smooth very easily and the black topcoat turned out great. It took me 2 can of the primer to do the suspension parts in the pictures and I bought more for the rest of the chasis

A fantastic product.. it's easy to apply, there's a good fan on the spray pattern with no hot spotting. This is primo DTM primer. Buy once cry once nothing adheres like a 2k product.

I needed an epoxy primer to use on another aluminum stern drive on a boat between the etching primer and the color coat. The last time I did this on a different stern drive I used Alodine, this 2-part epoxy primer, topped with acrylic enamel 1-step paint. It held up well in freshwater boating, but it was apparent that I should have used a better color coat due to some staining. For this project, I used a zinc phosphate etching primer, then this 2-part epoxy primer, then an acrylic lacquer color coat, then an acrylic lacquer clear coat. Every coat was compatible with the previous coat. This stuck well to the zinc phosphate layer, and most importantly, the acrylic lacquer stuck well and had no issues being applied to this 2 part epoxy primer. For those who know paint technology, you realize that selecting the proper kind of coating to keep from having the acrylic lacquer burn through the previous coating and ruin the job is of utmost importance. This 2-part epoxy primer is more than up to the task. Just be sure to follow the directions and apply the color coat between 15 minutes and 12 hours after applying this product. While I do have professional paint application equipment, for smaller jobs like this I prefer to use a quality rattle can process. Without this product, that would not be attainable. Just be sure to understand that the nozzle is adjustable, and it will not be set the way you need it to be set right out of the box.

Great Product

I am so glad I made phone calls & researched on the internet how to properly deal with repairing rust & the need to use an epoxy primer when you have to sand bare metal. I had huge rust stains over 40% of my truck roof, and had previously tried to repair it with regular primer, it didn’t last the rainy winter & started rusting through the paint by summer & only spread & got worse! What a mess! I had to sand the entire center of the roof down to bare metal, feathering the huge areas edges , so that it would blend. I used this epoxy primer, the only one that comes in a spray can, thank god it does! It went on pretty smooth, and I was able to coat the whole roof with several coats & even was able to do some rusted spots on my bumper! Looks good, dried over the day & then painted it. The only problem I had was that paint cans drip, so have a shop towel to wipe the sprayer often, or it will get drops on your paint & you may be able to sand them out a little, but you’ll see that in your finished paint job 😬. It works though & just in time that I got it done before several big heavy rain storms. Still looks great & durable, thanks for making an epoxy primer in a spray can, otherwise it wouldn’t have been possible to repair myself! 🤘♥️💁‍♀️🎅

This product is superior. I can't speak for this vs any other epoxy primer, for for what I used it for, results were great. I painted my grille slats body color on my F350, so I had to sand down the chrome finish on the plastic parts. This covered the surface so evenly and easily, the project turned out to be quite a success. Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance

The spray pattern and the coverage is great..half of the time.. but the nozzle isn't worth the trouble. its sputters horribly. and you get a few seconds of great spray then it gets bad.. Then after half the can is used it is almost unusable. Wouldn't buy again. Disappointed being that the Spraymax 2K clear is PHENOMINAL

I was skeptic at first but after seeing how it works I’m a believer! I didn’t need much and I didn’t want to go to an auto paint supplier for such a small amount. This fit the bill I removed some serious rust that was around and under my windshield on my full size truck. After the rust was removed I prepped the surface and put 4 -5 coats allowing flash time between each coat and still had a little bit of paint left over. It helped me resolve a serious corrosion issue permanently. Adhesion and durability was my main concern and for the cost I feel it worked great for me.

As advertised. Worked great, very durable. It left a heavy texture but was easy enough to sand out to prep for the next coat. My only problem is with the cap. I inverted the can to activate the hardener as instructed, but the lid exploded when I pushed on the bottom. I had to activate the hardener with a screwdriver.
