Many pages were missing and the real story is cut short. Really bad

Moral- Don't be unique, make others like you at you, be a people pleaser expense.
What good are dazzling, shimmering scales with no one to admire them? This line in the book is enough for me to not want my kid to read this. The story could have easily talked about kindness and empathy, but chose to focus on appearances and being a people pleaser.
