Very impressive!
I have owned a lot of high end amps and cabinets and this inexpensive combo sounds so good I think it might be my favorite. Plenty of volume and punch and the tone is perfect with very little knob-turning. My only complaints are the lack of mute switch and the bright and contour voicings are pretty terrible to my ears. The overdrive channel is ok but I would prefer to get rid of all of the voicing buttons and give me a mute switch instead. Overall though, I love this combo and I would definitely recommend it.

Rumble 500 great sound and light
This is a great sounding combo right down to the low B and more power than I will ever need. This combo is also 30 lbs lighter than my other combo making setup and tar down less of a chore

Bassist With 30+ Years Experience..Look No Further!
I've experimented with quite a few amps over the past 30+ years, and the Fender Rumble is definitely the stuff of DREAMS for the gigging musician. This thing is a BEAST! Window rattling low end, punchy/poppy mids, and tons of sound shaping controls. It packs 500w, which is more than enough power for any venue and it really cuts through the mix. The lightweight cabinet is the icing on the cake, something any musician who's ever strained out an eyeball lugging around a full rig will appreciate. Look no further..this is the amp you want. No, the amp you NEED.

Great upgrade
Great! Just what I needed. I have a Rumble 200 which is a great amp but I needed a bigger sound to play outside venues. I paired this with a fender Rumble 500 15-in cabinet underneath. It moves some serious air.

In a word, amazing
I've owned countless bass amps over the past few decades, including several full stacks from the likes of Ampeg and others. This thing is an absolute beast in terms of volume, sound quality, and value. Any tone you're looking to get out of your rig, you can probably get it here, and it all weighs less than 40lbs.

Light and Powerful
The day's of heavy large rigs are over. This is proof.

Rumble 500
I purchased a Rumble 100 several years ago but it hardly got any use so I gave it an attempt to give it some use for general jam sessions. After playing through it for a little while, I concluded the Rumble 100 wasn't going to give me the power and sound signature I was hoping for so I moved onto my trusty Hartke HA-4000 into a Hartke 4X10 Transporter cab. I was previously using an Ampeg V-4B 100 watt tube head into an Ampeg 8X10 fridge cab but I wanted to change things up a bit. The Hartke sounded pretty good, like it always has, but the clip indicator did its usual flickering so I thought I would consider another option. I happened to see a band this past Saturday and the bass player was running through a Rumble 200 and, though I thought it seemed to be a little farty at times, it seemed to sound really punchy and deep for the most part. It started me thinking so I took a look on-line for the Rumble models and I decided to pull the trigger for the Rumble 500 model. I use a Zoom pedal, so my experience may differ from some. I run some compression, reverb and another modeling patch that just sounded good at the time I set things up. It's punchy through any amp it's been run through. Onto the Rumble 500. I connected the pedal to the amp and grabbed my Fender Jazz fret-less. With just the amp and no extension cab, (Zoom pedal connected) the amp impressed me. It seemed to have much more drive than the Hartke HA-4000 and I was pleased with how the amp alone sounded. Then, I took things a little further, I connected the Hartke 4X10 Traveler cab to the Rumble 500. Oh boy. Fibers and dust began falling from the ceiling tiles that are in my basement. The Hartke was pretty good at driving the 4X10 and a 15" cab but it never had the quickness, punch and power that the Rumble 500 delivers. I didn't have high expectations for the Fender Rumble 500 but it proved me wrong. Its Class D amp definitely out performs the Hartke Class A/B amplification and that amp is rated at 200 watt into 8 ohm / 400 watt into 4 ohm. I read a lot of positive reviews for the Rumble 500 and I will have to add this one to them. Two thumbs up!

Waited until I gigged this for a while before reviewing. I think I've played about 25 gigs with it. It is one of the loudest amps I've ever owned. I have a 15" Traynor cab to go with it, but to be honest, I don't really need it. This is a killer rig, and the weight is the icing on the cake. I did a lot of research before I bought this, and everything I read has so far proven true. I have not had the volume up to a quarter turn yet. That is how loud it is. The only thing I would advise is to check all the screws for tightness when it's received, and on a fairly regular basis. But that is true with most bass amps I suppose, given the thumping they take. The only thing that would make it better is a metal grill.
