Yes, you can take the SIM out of your phone and put it right into the ZTE MC7010CA . It’s unclear specifically with metro and T-Mobile (you would need to ask ), but with month-to-month plans with either Boost Mobile and Mint Mobile, they count data as hotspot data. Hotspot data is usually limited by the carrier to a certain amount of traffic per month.  So with the lowest cost plan with Mint Mobile, it includes 10 GB of hotspot data and unlimited data. Even after the 10 GB of hotspot data is used up, if you move back the Sim chip back into the phone, it will revert back to unlimited regular data.

Question 2

Is this compatible with n71 band?  You list it on the description but on the ZTE website the MC7010 model does not show n71. no speces for MC7010CA

There are two issues that determine if it will work with a carrier. 1. 5G frequency 2. Carrier policy.

Yes this version of the MC7010 (for North America only) does support N71. So *theoretically* if could work on ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile and others.

However, it is the POKICY of AT&T and Verizon to specifically block this product from working. We tried multiple times however it does connect to their networks and then a few hours later, their internal policing system blocks the device. The Verizon and ATT Policy is that you have to use THEIR hardware.

This device will ONLY work on the T-Mobile system and its MVNO sub carriers (Metro, Mint, Boost, Tello, etc)

Does this have a spot to plug in an external antenna?
