Frame feels so fragile.

The frame is a bit thin but the product does the job well.

When I opened the package the first thing I noticed was the frame was broken in 3 places arriving in by next day delivery in a box, as the box was perfect and suffered no damage the conclusion is the frame was packed and sent broken. Having said although the trainers look somewhat flimsy, with carefull handling, will I am sure be fine. Despite the small damage they seem very good value for the money with getting forty trainers and based on that alone I would recommend them to anyone wanting a bargain. I must reiterate however handle them sensibly and carefully and they should be OK.

Bigger than I expected! I’ve seen previous reviews that said these were flimsy but they are much sturdier than expected. I have not used them yet however I have assembled the books in the tray and I am very happy, although I found the final book of cells a squeeze to fit in. I can’t wait to start growing my seeds in these! Well worth £13 if you ask me! I can imagine getting several years of use from these.

For £13 pounds, what you get is about £1 worth of low-quality plastic formed into a basic tray (the material is so flimsy the tray doesn't even hold its shape), and another £1 worth of the 'books', which are made from even flimsier material. Having said that, once the 'books' are folded into pots and stacked in the trays, the whole thing does hold together, and I imagine the seedlings will be easy to remove. You do get a couple of spare 'books' with each tray, which is just as well since I doubt they last long. It does what it says on the tin, but really quite overpriced for what you get. I would have expected something more durable.

Great for the sweet pea seeds!

you need a bit of care with these to get several seasons use out of them. however if they had made it with better quality plastics then it would have cost more because they wouldnt sell as many. used it twice so far. very effective - quickly get really long roots in broad beans and peas and you can stop the little b****rs getting to the young plants.

I bought 2 of these kits. I like this product and my beans are growing well to date, however, each kit stated it included a clear plastic lid but they weren't in the packs.

I’ve just planted my first seeds in these. They fold up nicely and I instead of gouging out my poor little seedlings when it comes time to plant them, I will just peel back the sides and easily remove the plant. I will then rinse it out and reuse.

The delivery box looked like someone had been sitting on it. The very thin constructed frame that holds the trainers is broken on one corner and deformed. Luckily only 3 trainers were cracked on one end. Almost sent it back right then, but decided to put them together and see. I'm quite certain these books will split in half at sometime. No way will these last for years as they claim. I was very gingerly putting each one together fully expecting each one to break. None of them broke. At first the plastic rack looked too small to hold 10 trainers, but instructions state to put them in tightly. So I added the last one in the middle of the rack slowly and much to my surprise all 10 books did fit in the rack. These are WAY OVER PRICED for the quality that you receive. These are EXPENSIVE $39.01 for one set and I expected much higher quality! I ordered 4 sets and the first one came today. I'm still waiting on the other three to arrive. I will decide if I will keep or return these when I see what condition the next sets are in. Right now my gut is telling me to return these and ask for my money back. It might turn into a purchase that disappoints me every time I use them. I will update this review as soon as the other three sets arrive. If they offered me a partial refund, that would help me get over the disappointment I am currently feeling. UPDATE: March 3rd, 2023 The other three sets of the deep root trainers came in today. Even though DHL delivered to my neighbors house instead of mine. This shipment was in good condition and there is no damage to packaging or product. I will keep them, I still think they are too expensive. But I got free ($91.00 worth) shipping with Prime! I guess that pretty much covers the new price increase for Prime this year... I don't feel secure they will last for many years, and they are kind of a pain to fill with soil. Maybe 12 or 13qts of potting mix to fill 1 set. I will try to be careful with them. They lock together well even though it doesn't feel like it at first. They will not fit easily into a 1020 tray, I recommend high quality trays that will not crack when you have to pull the sides out a bit to get them to seat properly into the watering tray. I raised rating to 3 stars because I think they will be okay but still not sure about longevity and 39 bucks would be better.
