Worth Every Penny
In my previous house I replaced the valves before hard water corrosion set in and, in most cases, didn't replace the compression sleeves. In a few cases I cut the sleeve off VERY carefully (with limited success). In my current house the builder didn't leave enough room to pull the nut back to examine/clean the sleeve. It probably wouldn't matter since the water here has been hard and total replacement makes sense. I've used this for 4 valves so far and it's been perfect each time. Sometimes it takes some muscle to turn the socket wrench so I'm glad I went with a robust version of this type of tool. I also make sure I keep one hand on the tool to keep it from turning to avoid any chance of what a few people have complained about (twisting the pipe). I save enough money doing things myself I don't mind spending a little extra for robust tools, especially if I expect multiple uses. If I was only buying a tool like this for a one time use I might think differently.

Heavy Duty: Gets the Job Done
YouTube videos I first watched said the compression ring would come off so easy & of course they demonstrate on a new pipe that hasn’t been fitted before. So we realized we needed a special tool to remove the ring and the other ones on the market look flimsy with some reviewers reporting they only work one time. This one is very heavy duty and I imagine will be long lasting. It worked really well and made a previously tough job much more manageable. Very satisfied!

Quick strong removal of compression rings
I have had to remove angle stops that were over tightened so much that the copper is no longer 1/2 inch and a weak removal tool cant effectively remove them. This tool rips them off of pipe like its mad at copper. The ability to use a socket is heaven. Trying to turn a metal bar makes you bend the copper tube while you apply pressure unevenly. Its higher priced than most tools but worth every dime. I'm a plumber 30 years in and other tools dont come close.

Good tool - but don’t forget silicone plumbers grease
This tool works well IF you put plumbers silicone grease on the pipe before using the tool. Did not do that the first time and could not get the compression sleeve off. Did it the second time, and the tool worked like a charm

Quality tool that you will not regret buying
I received this tool yesterday and used it to remove a compression nut and ferrule today. It is quality tool. I am very happy with this purchase. $50 is not cheap but I bought it because the reviews were so positive. The strength of the components that make up this tool are top shelf. It is obvious the designers of this tool are fastidious about quality and strength. My ferule was removed effortlessly and quickly . I had the water back on and a new ball valve angle stop installed in 10 minutes! I have 24 angle stops valves in my units that are over 45 years old. This tool will pay for itself over and over . I hope my comments are helpful.

Nothing cheap about it; easily handles close-to-wall gaps...
This is one of those tools you'll be happy to have in the toolbox "just in case." Pass on the inferior brands and models for something that will do the trick with confidence -- otherwise, you may find yourself with the water shut off longer than planned as you chop into the wall to stub out a new supply connection. I've had to disconnect some temporarily installed fixtures that were in use prior to drywall going up. But there's nothing "temporary" about a fully seated olive, and using a channel lock is a good way to mangle the copper. This puller end seats neatly in the end of the copper pipe, and the plate is thin enough to easily fit between the nut an the wall. The fine pitch threading makes operation no trouble at all, and nut & olive slide off together.
