Is the 3 gallon case premium blue extreme synthetic or premium blue synthetic blend? the pics show 2 different types of premium blue.

Valvoline has rebranded the product so the old answers no longer fit. There is no longer the word Extreme in the 5W40 and it's now called simply "Premium Blue." That said, this listing is for the full synthetic.

Synthetic? Is this a Group 3,4 or 5 base stock?

Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme 5w-40 is a group IV base stock oil. It is very comparable to Rotella T6 with slightly better additives for more miles (15,000 vs 12,000) between oil changes, but not as good in extreme cold conditions as the Shell Rotella T6 5w-40. Both are excellent top performing oils.

Is the price listed for 1gal or a case of 3gals

The price is for 3 gallons......

How did this go from 60 bucks and change to 80 bucks?

They added 20 bucks, simple math, or maybe the synthetic oil well is running dry or requires additional fracking in order synthesis more?

I've tried Rotella T6 5W40 besides this Valvoline 10W30 and the Valvoline offers better MPGs. This Valvoline also offers less emissions smell and the engine operates smoother. My truck has 33K miles and I'll stick with the Valvoline Blue 10W30 which is what Cummins recommends for this engine along with Donaldson Oil Filters which are the very best you can get.
