Nextmug - Temperature-Controlled, Self-Heating Coffee Mug (Sage - 14 oz.)

used this when i was on a trip to china in the winter. Very good once its fully charged.

I love this mug! I have a 4 month old and I NEVER get to have a hot cup of coffee!! This mug honestly works soo well! Even on the lowest setting (warm) it still keeps the coffee hotter than when you first make it. On the highest setting ( piping) it may be a little too hot for me, but I just don’t use it on that setting unless the drink I have is already cold and I am trying to heat it back up. Only 2 small complains I have are that it is not dishwasher safe, so I have to wash it by hand everyday and then I have to charge it overnight. And that the battery only lasts a few hours! For most people this won’t be an issue because if you are using it at your desk you can leave the mug on the charging pad to keep it charged all day. But because I am constantly putting it down in random places using the charging pad all day just isn’t an option for me. Honestly great buy!!

Exactly what we needed! I keep mine on the middle setting (Hot) and it's perfect drinking temperature. Easy to use, easy to charge, fun to use, comfortable large handle, matte finish surface resists fingerprints. Great insulation; even with piping hot coffee, the exterior is tepid at the most.

Just received this NextMug. Wanted to try this as a replacement for my now-defunct Ember mug whose internal battery, after a few years, stopped charging. Price wasn't a factor as the NextMug is only slighly less costly. Had seen several YouTube reviews on the NextMug, all generally favourable, so I went for it. Have only used it a few times as it just arrived the other day. So far so good. What I like is the smaller charging plate and the fact that the NextMug does not use a software app to control temperature. Instead, the controls are on the mug itself and seem to work as intended. Unlike the Ember which automatically senses the hot contents and activates the heating element within, the NextMug works a bit differently. When removed from the charging plate, the mug is in its "off" position. The hot coffee is dispensed into the mug from, for example, a Keurig coffeemaker, and then the "on" button at the side of the mug should be pressed to activate the heating element and select the temperature (warm, hot or piping). The element will then bring the contents to the chosen temperature, either up or down. When finished drinking, the same button is pressed to cycle off the element. I seem to recall the instructions indicating that the mug will in any event cycle off by itself after a period of time. Because the NextMug is barrel-shaped, it looks larger than the cylindrical Ember, and looks like it can hold a lot more liquid than the Ember. However, in reality, the barrel-shaped form is just the exterior of the NextMug. The interior wall is complelely cylindrical, and therefore does not follow the barrel-shaped form of the exterior. Moreover, the interior of the Ember is deeper than the NextMug, by a little more than a quarter-inch. A full Ember mug equals a full NextMug - no major difference in volume that I can see. What I also like about the NextMug is that it comes with a thick, solidly-made drink-through lid with rubber seal. The lid is not cheapy plastic, and it fits into the mug snugly but effortlessly. The temperature of the contents is maintained much longer with the lid in place. A lid is available for the Ember but does not come with it (it didn't come with mine) and must be purchased separately as a relatively costly accessory. Although my NextMug has not yet been put to the test of time, having just received it, it seems to work as intended and works well. No regrets, at least as of now. I'm giving it 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for now only because I haven't had it long enough to be confident that it merits 5 stars based on long-term performance. A nice touch is the large array of colours. I chose "Sage", but the other colours are very nice too. Hope this review is helpful to your purchase decision. UPDATE: It has been several weeks now since receiving and using the NextMug, and still highly satisfied with its performance. Still much too early to give a 5-star rating, the last star being reserved for longevity of performance which is far away from being determined. Based on my experience with this NextMug to date, however, and based on the other very positive Canadian reviews that followed mine, the NextMug is a safe bet in my view, especially knowing that it can be returned if not satisfied. ADDENDUM - March 2026 - Now on my second NextMug. First one stopped heating after less than a year; was replaced by NextMug as defective. This second one also stopped working after less than a year. Disappointing especially given that these are not inexpensive. They appear to have a very limited life cycle, so keep this in mind if purchasing.

I've had this mug for more than a year now, and it's been well worth the money so far. I bought this after using an Ember Mug for about three years. While the Ember Mug served my needs quite well, the battery eventually completely died and the Bluetooth connectivity became unreliable, so the app became a hassle to use. As a result, I went looking for a heated mug that did not require an app to use and could potentially last just as long, and that's how I landed on the Nextmug. I love the fact that the bottom of the mug displays the battery level and temperature, thus no app needed. Even though there are only three temperature settings, I don't really need my coffee/tea to be an exact temperature, so that's not a problem for me. Although my mug has seen more than a year of near daily use, the battery feels like it still lasts just as long as when I first got it. Even now, the mug lasts about an hour on a full charge with the temperature set at "Piping". It can last even longer if I use the included lid. The bottom of my cup has stained considerably, and it's very difficult to clean the stains off, so I took off a star for that. That being said, it hasn't interfered with the functionality of the mug, so I'm not too bothered by it. In general, I've been very happy with this mug and I highly recommend it.
