The best radio in its class
A seriously good radio in a small package. This is equal to or outperforms my other small radios in both reception and sound quality. It's DSP but not unpleasant to tune. Locks onto stations fairly easily and doesn't pop off frequency when you move your hand away. I listen to AM at night and this performs about as well as another larger old GE analog from the 80s but this one does better separating two nearby stations compared to the old superhet. Excellent value. I don't think you'll find a better portable radio for less than $20.

Happy with purchase (so far)!
Good value for price. Only in use for two days but seems to provide clear reception on desired AM station.

killer little radio.
i pretty much only use this to listen to NPR and occasionally some jazz station near me as background noise on my desk, the speaker is perfectly good for this. When i started looking at small radios i scoffed at these unknown names like XHDATA. But you know what, these are the main guys these days if you want a quality cheap radio. I just don't understand how this radio is so cheap, the quality control with mine is outstanding for the cost. I don't need a second one but i feel like i have to buy a second one for how good it is lol. I'm gonna resist though... maybe... Heres a pic with soda can for scale.

Not my Daily Driver
Though small, this radio is too big for a Shirt Pocket Radio, its best for the kitchen counter, or maybe on a work bench, but I wouldn't travel with it. A travel radio should be about the size of a CC Crain Pocket Radio, or smaller and something you could hold with one hand and adjust. As for the sound of this radio, the A.M. sounds a bit flat and muddy....... kind of uncomfortable.......The F.M.,....clear but slightly hollow and echo'ish, which makes for longer listening tedious. I have radio's that are cheaper and smaller, that have a sound better and more pleasurable to listen than this radio. Also, when dialing to different stations, the volume all of a sudden goes up tuning to the next station, so I would have to lower it. At low level volume, there is also a hiss which is annoying, and the power light which is constantly on. I know the radio is on, I could hear it, daahh!!! I don't need a light to remind me, and waste batteries. I wanted to like this Radio, but it falls short on sound quality compared to other radio's I own, which as I said, are cheaper, smaller, and are generic brand radios mostly. I do own the International Version of the Xh Data D-219 in the 1K step, in the Off white color, which I keep in my collection, but it is not My Daily Driver, for Sports, News, or Talk radio, that is for my other radios. I mainly use this radio for listening to Short wave Radio stations, where sound quality is not that important. However, for listening to local stations, sound quality is important, especially if it is my daily driver, and this radio falls short.

Improved XHDATA D219
A great little radio to start your adventure into Shortwave radio. AM and FM work just great, as well as Shortwave. And how can you not like that green color. I have an older model where AM only goes up to 1620, this one goes up to 1730. This new model also has a better tuning method using 1 step tuning therefore getting those hard to tune in frequencies. The AM on this improved model also seems to pick up the AM band stronger with much more volume. Could be that 1 step tuning. Remember AA batteries, this radio runs on them and for many hours. Get one.

Good little radio for the price
I would say that for the price you can’t beat this little radio. selectivity and sensitivity on the a.m. and FM bands are very good.. The short wave band definitely needs a boost from an external antenna, so I paired this unit with an antenna from the same brand the SW001. I have the antenna strung across my bedroom near the window on the ceiling for a length of about 20 feet and it does a very nice job.. unfortunately here in North America there’s not much to be had in the way of English short wave broadcast unless you like listening to religious channels. I get quite a few Spanish-speaking broadcasts, but unfortunately I don’t speak Spanish. I’ve only had the Radio for a couple of weeks and can say I am quite pleased with it now hopefully it shows some decent durability.
