I purchase this for my son. It is not harsh and there isn’t a strong smell. It is gentle yet effective.

While I liked the light apple scent of this cleanser, and the thick lather, I can't use this cleanser with any kind of regularity, my skin is just too sensitive. (as well as being eczema prone) And while salicylic acid does help with breakouts it can be very drying, so I would definitely recommend using a moisturizer with this product even if you don't have sensitive skin. As for me, I can maybe use it once a week and be okay (as long as I go heavy on my moisturizer. But it's not a product that I would buy for myself, it's just too expensive. Especially when you can buy similar products that work just as well or maybe even better for less than half the price.

I keep liking the idea of using salycilic acid to help keep my acne at bay, and I also like the idea of it cleansing my pores. But my skin is apparently very sensitive to it. I've had trouble with it in the past but thought that with the hydrating ingredients included in this wash that it would eliminate the irritation. But nope, still doesn't work for me. My skin is blotchy red as I write this, though I know it should be gone by morning. The packaging says to discontinue use if redness/irritation occurs so that's what I guess I'll do. It seems like a nice product though. The pump comes disconnected while the container has it's own separate lid which you remove and replace with the pump. It foams up very nicely and it does have an appley smell, though there seemed to be a bit of a background smell that I don't particularly like. Most may not notice that though. It spread easily over my face and felt nice rubbing it around. Again, my only real problem isn't with this face wash but rather with my skin.

This face wash comes in a nice sturdy plastic bottle. You put the pump into the bottle yourself, which I suspect is good so it is less likely to leak during shipping. I have the green apple scent. I have to say though there really isn't much of a scent to it, and that is fine. I use one - two pumps for my face. The wash comes out light and foamy. It is easy to apply to your skin, and the product rinses off easily. My face feels clean. It does not feel stripped or very moisturized - just clean. I did not have any sensitivities to the face wash at all, and I've been using it for several days. The salicylic acid in this product is supposed to help with pimples and breakouts. I do get small breakouts every so often. I suspect this would be a great product for a teen or a young adult experiencing breakouts. This is a product that I would get again.

While I typically prefer cleansers that are unscented or that have a light and natural citrus aroma, I enjoy the smell of apples too and decided to give the apple scented version a shot. The product does claim to be free of synthetic fragrance. So far, so good. The cleanser has a thick and beautiful lather, generated with a couple of pumps. It smells refreshing and pleasant, and is generally a joy to use. As of the time of this review, my sensitive skin hasn’t had any significant bad reactions to the cleanser though there was a slight itchiness that I attribute more to possible overuse of salicylic acid products lately (I need to scale back frequency of use). If you have sensitive skin too, I definitely recommend doing a patch test before using - like the product description also advises.
