This concert was filmed on May 7, 2016 in Prague during Hans Zimmer's hugely successful European tour. Hans was accompanied by a band, orchestra and choir (72 musicians in total), including guitarist Johnny Marr of The Smiths. The staging was spectacular, with a groundbreaking light show, stunning visuals and a state-of-the-art sound system. Hans Zimmer performs on multiple instruments and gives introductory insights to many of the pieces during the concert. This show is a treat for lovers of both great music and great movies. Available on Blu-ray. Review: Good sound and video - Fine sound and video. Very deep bass in the later sections. I live in the boondocks, and I can play music as loud as I like. But some people may need to be aware of their neighbors when playing this. I had a great deal of trouble getting the main menu to show. I found that wiping the center of disc with no more than my finger tip was sufficient to make the menu appear. Without doing that, it would show a repeating, looping introductory video, but the main menu (chapter selection, audio setup) wouldn't appear. Review: Amazing Concert - Amazing Soundtrack - I had heard the Hans Zimmer Live in Prague Blu-Ray disc being used to demonstrate various home theater systems in the past, but I was thrilled that a new 4K Blu-Ray was available, now with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. When I got it, I tried it on my home theater system, and what can I say? I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First, I did detect that the default is to use the Stereo track, not the Atmos 7.1 track, probably to ensure compatibility to all sound systems. Once I went into the setup from the main menu, and selected the Dolby Atmos 7.1 track, and hit the play button, I was transported to that concert. The music completely surrounded me, even though I only have a 5.1 home theater. I truly felt as if I were sitting either in the front row or even, at times, on the stage itself. I should also mention, if you are a Hans Zimmer fan, such as myself, this is a must-have disc. You will enjoy listening to the music over and over and over again. The other musicians were fantastic, lively, and were totally enjoying themselves as they played along with Hans. The only downside is that the disc does not come in a normal Blu-Ray clamshell case. Instead, it comes in a cardboard sleeve. I am a bit worried that the disc may get scratched after it is pulled out and slid back in multiple times. I would 100% recommend this 4K Blu-Ray disc. It is enjoyable, and will test out anyone's home theater setup with the proper equipment (ensure the processor/receiver/4K-player can handle the Dolby Atmos encoding).

Awesome disc, put your soul at ease listening to these tunes
Hans Zimmer is a living legend. If you are a fan. This disc is essential. The man has made so much timeless classics for movies like Inception, Man of Steel, interstellar, Dune, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rain man, crimson tide. The list is endless. This disc is a demo for Atmos sound and it is just incredible to listen to his body of work. U know if he does the score it will be incredible.

4k: improved both video and audio
I was very happy with blu ray edition and bought 4K without expecting much. Both the image and soundtrack were remastered, and while image is improved as expected the 7.1 soundtrack improvement was the most perceptible for me. The original was already very, very good, but this one is just next level. I was not expecting this. The bitrate is consistently higher than on blu ray. It was already high on blu ray, reaching up to 7 or 9 mbps at times, but now it sometimes reaches 16 and is consistently above 6 mbps. The bitrate is one thing, but the surround sound truly just feels more balanced on 4k, less consisting of individual speakers and front/back division and more like unified whole without individual speakers. Spectacular. I only worry with these cases that the disk will get scratched as I pull it out and push it in in carton box every time.

Hans Zimmer in Prague and later in Baltimore…
This is a spectacular concert and recording. It was so great that I bought tickets to see Hans and the orchestra in Baltimore MD during his last tour in North America! Bravo!

Phenomenal performance, phenomenal sound, crappy packaging. Still five stars.
I see now why this is considered one of the best discs to show off a Dolby Atmos system. Wow. Incredible. Packaging is crap, though. It deserves better.

My Blu-ray collection is great, but the new 4K UHD is even better. I'm so satisfied with it

Absolutely loved this concert. It did end up blowing one of my subwoofers. It is mixed very heavy on the low end at least 2x a typical release. If your system can handle it crank it up It's a feast for the ears. Otherwise turn down the subwoofer level for this one

Not my type of concert registration. First part is okay but second part is more like a psychedelic lightshow. Very nervous and quick camera changes. Maybe acceptable to listen but hard to watch. Disappointing for me.

Nationalorchesters inkl.Chöre, starke Drumeinsätze+E-Gitarre=Rockoper -the weat/the battle/elysium/now we are free (gladiator): lebt von der Stimme von Czarina Russell, die einen sofort mit in den Film nimmt, und Russel Crowe im Weizenfeld vorstellen lässt. Gänsehaut! Bläsereinsatz, Streicher, Traumhaft. -chevaliers de sangreal (the da vinci code): einer meiner Lieblingsstücke. Wunderschönes Violinenspiel, kobiniert mit futuristischem Cello. Choreinsatz. Orchester. Choreinsatz. puh, schon wieder feuchte Augen...schnüffel.. -captain jack sparrow/one day up is down/he`s a pirate (pirates of the carribean): Tina Guos (frisch aus China eingetroffen) bezauberndes Cellospiel eröffnet dieses Thema. Streicher-/Posauneneinsätze des tschech.Orchesters. Umsetzung. damals absoluter kult. -main theme (rain man): (piano solo von hans zimmer und bass-solo von yolanda charles. was kleines zwischendurch zum aufwärmen) -what you`re going to do when you`re not saving the world (man of steel): Duell der beiden Schlagzeuger, fließender Übergang zu: -journey to the line (the thin red line): kompletter Einsatz aller Beteiligten. starke visuelle Bühnenhintergrundbilder. geniale Bildbrillianz! Wird also mal wieder Zeit dafür! -the electro-suite (themes from the amazing spiderman 2): grandioses Fagott, ergänzt durch später einsetzende Heavy Metal-Einsätze aller Beteiligten. cooler einzelner umherwandernder Choreinsatz. Schraddel at its best. bringt das zimmer zum beben. harter subwoofereinsatz, den man auf der couch spüren kann.geniale Komposition! ein absolutes highlight. -why so serious/like a dog chasing cars/why do we fall (the dark knight trilogy): jetzt kommen die härtesten 15min: harter Drum-und Gitarreneinsatz, der die düstere Stimmung des Filmes trägt und prägt. Subwoofer im vollen Einsatz. Übergang zu rockenden Violinen/Gitarren/Drums, wundervoll treibend. Einzigartiges Zusammenspiel. -day one/cornfield chasing cars/no time for caution/stay (interstellar): wunderschöner film von chr.nolan. mit david fincher und denis villeneuve die besten 3 regisseure derzeit. ruhiges Introducing übergehend in epischer fülle. Berauschend! -half remembered dream/dream is collapsing/mombasa/time (inception): Scheinwerfer schwingen sich durchs Publikum, zeitgleich unterstützt durch in alle Richtungen bewegenden bedrohlichen heimkinosound. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!!!
