Definitely recommend for the older beginner.

I teach piano to my grandchildren ages 7 and 10. They like this publication and find it non-intimidating. The 10 year old just finished the last piece in the book and was very proud to play it to his parents. The book may be a little easy for him but it gives him some fun and relaxing pieces to play. You can't just have challenging pieces or they will loose interest. Practice must be fun and rewarding.

The Faber Accelerated books for Older learners are wonderful. The pace is fast enough to be interesting for someone like me, who listens to a lot of classical and jazz music. The song selections are pretty, sometimes even beautiful -- rare in a book for beginners.

I have been teaching piano for 32 years. I love the Piano Adventure Series! I use these books exclusively with my beginning students. I usually buy mine at the local music store, but they were out of one of the books last week, so I ordered with Amazon Prime and had it the next day :-)

I purchased the series of Accelerated Piano Adventures for the Older Beginner, Level 1. Easy to understand, but challenging. Just what I wanted to help me learn to play the piano.

My background: 22 year old, been playing less than a year (true beginner). I bought this to help me improve and practice my skills as I learn to play the piano. I bought the book used but it was in great condition. The pieces are composed well and they include helpful tips and questions to keep you engaged and reaffirm your sheet reading knowledge. It’s a true beginners book, anyone with significant experience would be really bored. Why did I knock off a star? I feel there isn’t really anything special about it. I get that it’s an exercise book, but almost all the songs are included in my instruction book series (Alfred all in one lesson/theory course). They are very basic, boring pieces that you find in most instruction courses (non copyrighted generally). The two nice thing is that it includes: duets on almost all the pieces to play with your teacher (so if you are interested in that it’s a good piece to add to your collection) and : a repertoire list in the back (nice to keep track of the pieces you have mastered but tbh you could just make a list for yourself and keep it pinned up somewhere). Overall: I probably won’t even use it that much after this year. It’s good to work through once but then you probably won’t touch it again, so I wouldn’t suggest paying too much for it. Good book to write in and use as practice. Despite its title I feel that it would actually be well suited to children beginners as well (maybe 10+). That’s all she wrote: a general reminder to please leave reviews do other consumers can make smart purchases :)

The music books by Faber are unbelievable. I switched to Zfaberare from another Artie's because Faber had more music theory and better compositions. Am very impressed with this series. Great for any serious student.

Using this for a new student that is 14 years old. Progresses at a quicker pace that the original version. A wonderful learning technique.

Un buen material para complementar al libro de lecciones, se repasa el tema visto en el libro principal y se enriquece. Tiene las mismas cuestiones a considerar que el otro libro, piezas muy rápidas que exigen buena lecura, lo que puede ser beneficioso o no, depende de cómo se aplique.

It’s a new version of this classic, with some new pieces. All my pupils like this book.

You can’t go wrong with Piano Adventures books, they are pedagogically sound, creative, and you can find curriculum appropriate for any age!! My students and I love them!!
