Useful! but LED’s failed over time
Update: Aug 11 2026 I emailed Compfytemp from their website with all my Amazon order info and a photo of my failed product. To my surprise I received a email back within hours asking for my address so they can send me a new one. I was shocked but am so happy that this company stands behind their product. For this I changed it to five stars instead of three. Overall I think the red light has been helpful to healing my muscle injury. I bought this red light therapy pad almost a year ago, and it worked great—until it didn’t. Unfortunately, it now has four rows of lights that have stopped working, which is really frustrating for a product that’s not even a year old. The things I really liked about it are that it’s lightweight and rolls up easily, making it convenient for traveling. You can lay on it or position it against the back of a chair, which makes it pretty versatile. One thing to be aware of is that it does get quite warm against your skin. If you’re sensitive to heat, this may not be the best option for you. Overall, I felt that it was helpful for my lower-back and glute muscle soreness, and I liked the convenience and portability. I just wish it had lasted longer. Because of the lights going out after less than a year, I’m disappointed with the durability.

Helpful in Relieving Joint Pain
I've been struggling with a hip issue this year that has mostly been bothering me when I am trying to sleep - or wakes me up several times at night. I bought this several months ago and have used it almost every night for 20 minutes while listening to an audiobook before I go to sleep. I like the length of this mat because I can lay on my unaffected side and wrap this mat vertically around my bad hip and leg (there is a velcro belt like feature that helps you wrap or secure this more tightly around your body. I like that it is so warm and soothing and automatically shuts off in 20 minutes. It did take a bit of experimentation to figure out the right light settings that felt good and provided just enough heat and relief. I did find that after using this steadily for a few weeks that I was able to fall asleep quickly and not wake up several times in the night due to pain and discomfort. It does take some time to figure out how to position it correctly for whatever body part you are using it for. For a back issue - not complicated at all, for hips, knees, or other parts it does take experimentation and some patience.

Worth It for Muscle Recovery & Joint Pain Relief
I’ve been using the Comfytemp 33” x 17” Mat for a few weeks now. First, the size is perfect for targeting larger areas like my back and hips. It comfortably fits my upper body when lying down, and I’ve also wrapped it around my knees and shoulders. The flexibility of the mat makes it easy to position around joints, which was important for me. The combination of 660nm (red light) and 850nm (near-infrared) feels like it penetrates deeper than smaller handheld devices I’ve tried before. After workouts, I’ve noticed reduced muscle soreness and faster recovery. It’s also been helpful for stiffness in my lower back. I usually use it for about 15–20 minutes per session, and the warmth is gentle — not overly hot or uncomfortable. The build quality feels solid. The LEDs are evenly distributed, and the mat lays flat without bunching. It’s easy to store and doesn’t take up much space. I also appreciate that it’s FSA/HSA eligible. A few things to note: • It’s not a miracle cure overnight — consistency matters. • The 33” x 17” size is great for targeted areas but not full-body at once. Overall, for the price point, this is a great entry into red light therapy without spending hundreds more on a large panel system. If you’re looking for muscle recovery, joint support, or general inflammation relief, this mat is a solid option. Would definitely purchase again.

Incredibly decent sized! 4 modes, 3 strengths, heats up, strap...
This is large enough to cover my torso, from top of butt to right behind neck!! I'm tall, so that says a lot... Very nice it's not handkerchief sized or something. 😂 Only gripe i have is my fatness doesn't allow more for a full around-the-torso wrap but that's a me problem, not a product problem. The funny thing about that, though, is that it's so wide that it pushed up E uncomfortably underneath the boobs to be seated with it wrapped around the torso, haha! Not comfort table in THAT position without leaning back, but it definitely is a good thing the width isn't on the narrow side, just as it isn't on the short side, either! So many applications with this largeness, especially as it's also flexible that I can wrap it around my feet or knees, too. I did try wrap it around my head as experiment, but that was really awkward LOL (do not have it exposed to face without appropriate eye protection!!) Love that I can choose strength, and between the 4 modes (red, NIR, dual red/NIR, flashing red/NIR). So far, it's doing what it's doing... Even had my period and it soothed the cramps within minutes. That's not why i got it, though. I got it for mitrochondrial support benefits because Lyme does major destruction and now I'm realizing it's all mitrochondrial near-failure with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, migraines as Lyme aftermath. Been using it twice a day, alternating between front and back. It was suggested flashing mode to kind of not be so intense on the mitrochondria, but now I'm trying out just straight NIR mode, as twice a day with the flashing at full strength seems to be tolerated well. Hopefully it'll last me a long while. Yes, it does get warm (no that can't be turned off, but you can adjust the overall strength) and yes, skin contact is best. What's the point of using it if your clothing is going to block it? Duh. 😂 Oh, and btw... No, you WON'T see the NIR; it doesn't mean it isn't working but that wavelength of NIR *isn't* visible.

Convenient red light therapy mat for at-home use and travel
What I bought this for: It was nearing the end of the year and I still had some HSA funds to use. I had recently purchased a red light therapy mask and had been doing more research on red light therapy in general, so I decided to add this mat to my routine. I wanted something I could use at home and also bring with me when I travel for work. What I like: • Large enough to comfortably use on different areas of the body • Easy to set up and use • Lightweight and packable — fits easily in my luggage • Nice addition to an at-home relaxation routine • Appreciated that I could use HSA funds to purchase it What could be better: The mat itself is flexible, so you do need to position it thoughtfully depending on where you’re using it. Not a big issue, just something to be aware of. After using it: I’ve been using this a few times a week for a couple of months now. While it’s too soon for me to say definitively how much it’s helping with aches and pains, I can say that I haven’t had any recent flare-ups and I don’t feel worse. That alone makes me feel good about continuing to use it as part of my routine. Would I recommend it? Yes, especially if you’re interested in red light therapy and want a mat that’s easy to use both at home and while traveling. I like using it in combination with my other wellness tools for a relaxing, spa-like experience at home.

Great for my legs and back!
I wanted red light therapy to support inflammation in my legs and back pain relief. I started getting professional treatments and they worked but were costly. I researched red light for home and this mat is awesome! It gives me the same feeling and relief as the professional service. Plus, it’s more beneficial because I can give myself more treatments from anywhere. It’s sturdy and big enough to give even coverage for any treatment area. I recommend consulting with a medical professional to learn more. But if you’ve done the research and ready to try it, this one will not disappoint. I’m happy with my selection and purchase.

More than impressed!
I was beyond skeptical, thinking red light was just a fad. After doing some research, I decided to try this specific one out. I have a torn rotator cuff, my husband hand a knuckle replaced, and my dog has bad hips. I utilize this on all 3 of us. It has improved all 3 to some degree. Even when I requested a third party report for the NIR to see if it's truly powerful enough, this company happily provided. I will be purchasing more products from them without hesitation. They were fast to respond and super friendly. For the actual product, I think all 3 of us move better. I just had a situation where I got pretty banged up and I used the pad. It seemed to help improve my pain and heal the bruises quicker than without. Thank you to the company for helping my family!

Just buy the red-light mat. Seriously.
I LOVE this thing. Easily one of my top 5 favorite Amazon purchases, and with the amount of Amazon that comes through my front door, that is saying something. It has multiple settings with easy to use buttons(Red low, red med, red high,NIR +red, pulsating color and more) and warms up to provide a really nice heat. In our household of six, ages 46 to 15 - this thing gets passed around for basically anything involving sore muscles, aches or general discomfort. Girls have cramps? Get the red-light mat. Guys have back aches? Get the red-light mat. I’m 46 and in peri, so apparently everything on my body has collectively decided to hurt? Grab the red-light mat. The size is one of my favorite things about it. It’s large enough to cover a good area, but not so huge that it’s cumbersome. I can easily position it over my back, legs, shoulders, abdomen or wherever I want to use it - making it very versatile. The material also feels genuinely high quality, not flimsy or like something that’s going to fall apart after a few months of regular use. And ours gets used. We find it very effective. I can’t speak to what red-light therapy will or won’t medically do for someone, but I can say that we absolutely love using this for the warmth and comfort it provides. Light weight and portable. Buy the red-light mat. You will not regret it.
