Just got the hive today and I'm ecstatic. It came early, was simple to put together thanks to the video, and it's honestly beyond my expectations! Will update the review later in the season once we actually get bees in it! At this point it's a 10/10 for me though. Some of the other reviews noted a weird smell that I don't have present with mine here, it smells and feels like fresh wood. Seems to be of good quality and it's exactly the size I was expecting. All the pieces fit together as they were meant to. It looks exactly like the picture. The MayBee brood frames that pop up as "frequently bought together" are a perfect fit, in case you're questioning that. I also tested the autoframes just to get a feel and right now they're perfect, again gotta update when the bees do their work in it.

We bought one of these awhile back. Did a ton of research about types of paint that are acceptable. Made it a family event by painting each of our own hands and covering the hive (first picture top is backwards but is fixed now) We took quite a process to try and get the bees to accept the hive. It was recommended to leave them in the NUC the first few days while they get comfortable with the new environment. Then move a few frames over to the hive in the next week and wait to see if they accept… looks like they accepted. I then gave them a couple more weeks before adding the top of the hive. Updated 6/25/25 The bees have started to explore the top frames. I don’t see honey yet but I do see a few exploring. update 7/24/25 My bees have moved up top and are starting to work on filling the frames! Whoop! 8/13/25 Added a photo of the frames filling up more I can say it’s definitely worth it so far if you have the time and patience. Heads up- the directions aren’t fantastic. If you think something won’t fit together make sure you have it going the right direction. We experienced that issue and I saw another review complaining that it didn’t fit but I can see in his picture he also has it facing the wrong direction.

i wanted to try flow hive but the name brand too expensive!! the plastic flow hive frames included in this hive are the only good quality item. The wood is bad chemical smell and not much wax dip.I've bought other hives with alot more wax dip coating and thicker wood....

I like it. It took us about 2 hours or a whole afternoon to put it together. We watched the video that it's attached to this product. We did have to make one modification because it didn't quite fit properly. But we've got it together, and I can't wait to show our bees their new home.
