The idea to go for Elite is no more frequent filter replacement. But it’s meaningless if the indicator doesn’t work. The indicator light was completely off after less than 3 months (most likely end of battery life).

I bought this Brita water Pitcher & Filtration System because it's the newest innovation that also eliminates lead from water. I actually by my water by the gallon now, because our wells now have forever chemicals. I stopped drinking tap water, because water is all I drink now besides my morning coffee. I use this Filtration system for my bottled water to get rid of the plastic particles they say are from the plastic bottles. I hope it's helping. The filters are easy to use & my water tastes really clean. The pitcher fits nicely on my fridge shelf & doesn't take up too much space, it's got good water flow & the quality if the product so far is really good. I have no complaints & highly recommend it.

I purchased this Brita pitcher on December 15, 2025. The product listing clearly states that the Brita Elite filter should be replaced 2x a year — about every 6 months. My usage is extremely light: I fill the pitcher once each morning for our coffee machine. Despite that, the electronic indicator turned red by February 1, only about 45 days later. Since Brita’s own guidance is to replace the filter when the green light turns red, this means the filter reached end‑of‑life far earlier than advertised. At this rate, I’d need a $30 two‑pack every three months, which makes the system much more expensive to maintain than expected. The pitcher itself is fine, but the filter lifespan is nowhere close to the “6 months” described in the product details. Very disappointing and not cost‑effective.

Everything about the Brita Elite filter and pitcher is consistent with the description. Just one note: There was no indication on or in the packaging that it is necessary to reset the change-water-indicator each time you change the battery. • Press the reset button (located on the underside of the lid) for about 5-15 seconds, matching the color of your filter • The light will flash green three times to confirm the reset • After setup, the green light will pulse each time you pour water to show your filter is still good • Yellow means you should change the filter soon; red means it's time to replace it Customers mention the reset button works best when you hold it firmly and wait for the light to respond before releasing.

I bought this to save money by not buying bottled water. After setting it up I keep it in the refrigerator. Water tastes good, I just pour it in a water bottle and take it with me. I add water as I go so I always have a full pitcher. It fits in the refrigerator fine. It takes a little time to filter but not that bad, not an issue if you add water as you use it. Only con is that there were no instructions in the box, just four steps printed on the box. Granted, it’s not that complicated and instructions are available online but it would have been nice to have the full mark noted and the reset button for filter like indicator.
