A lot of fun
This product is a little expensive, but for me, it was completely worth the price. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and this remote not only looks cool but it actually works. Everyone I have showed it to is amazed by its abilities, and it is very user friendly. It was easy to program, and even the most technologically impaired individuals were able to master the use after a few coaching steps. I set it to work with my cable box, so it is able to work in multiple rooms in my house. I have not utilized every function. (13 different functions in total) simply because I do not use them. It communicates to you once it has learned a command. When you perform a command it will vibrate to tell you if you have done the command right. Different commands have a different number of pulses. The packaging it came in was top of the line, and it was delivered very quickly. The wand is plastic but still looks very nice. The instructions that came with the wand outlines everything you need to know about the wand and how to practice using it. After about 5 minutes of practice and programming it was being used as my primary remote. It continues to learn from you and you style of flicking so the more you use it the more it customizes to fit you best!

Bring some magic into your life
This is so fun. It's really satisfying to be able to control things with a magic wand, and it's very handy to be able to control more than one device with the same lightweight remote. Plus, I don't have to worry about accidentally hitting the giant buttons on the default Roku remote that I never want to use. It can take some practice to learn, and it can sometimes confuse your gestures. But it's worth the bit of extra trouble. For your own enjoyment and to impress your friends.

Great gift, functional, and well-made, just a tad too sensitive.
First I got the Harry Potter wand which, while cheaper, feels like cheap plastic trash compared to the Kymera. Even though the Kymera is plastic, it has a heft and level of craftsmanship to it that is more than worth the money, and although it works much like the Harry Potter wand, it actually works with my TV, which the other wand never did. The reason I deducted one star is that the wand is a bit too sensitive, and if you put it next to you on the couch or brush up against it, some random effect will enchant your TV. It would be nice if the thing only worked when it sensed it was being held in the hand. It's a fun gift and I'd use it more often if not for having to suddenly walk through my TV's input settings while watching a show because I nudged the wand by accident.

Horrible product, poorly designed, and expensive to boot.
TLDR: this is an absolutely horrible product, and made worse so by the exorbitant price. I received this as a gift and waited too long to try using it, so I cannot return it. The practice and programming pulses are very faint except for the big pulse indicating it has learned a command. I never could get it to work for the rotate gestures. At least I don't think so. It's easy to miss 1 very light pulse of practice feedback, so I tried programming the rotates anyway. It gave me the big pulse for successful learning on those, but they never worked. I could only get it working for the flick left, right, up, and down. And even those stopped working after awhile. The flick left eventually started giving pulses again, as if that gesture was back in practice mode. The manual does not say how to reset the wand, telling you to look on their website instead. But the more complete manual on the website does not tell you how either. I had to do a web search to find those instructions in one of their posted articles. And that article implies that you have to reset the wand to re-enter practice mode. Even for the gestures not programmed? Plus resetting the wand requires using a gesture that the manual says requires practice to get it right. I did manage to get it reset. My batteries read good but I replaced them anyway, just in case. I then retrained the 4 flick gestures successfully, but again they stopped working after awhile, producing pulse feedback instead. Some simple design changes, like an LED, would make this product much easier to use, much easier to program, and much easier to debug when things do not work as expected. Which in my experience will be often. And lest you think I'm just a simpleton, rest assured I am not. I'm a highly trained and successful electronics design engineer. I've successfully designed, used, and repaired a lot of more complicated equipment. Is it possible that I just received a faulty unit? Yes, but that says something about quality control. So if you go ahead with this purchase, make sure you try it out right away. The only good thing about this is that it looks good. I've got it on display next to the expensive wand I got at Universal Studios. And I thought that wand was expensive.

This thing is a Hoot!!!!
Works as advertised. Here are some tips to remember if you buy one. Read the instructions carefully and follow the manufacturers suggestions for operation closely. A no-brainer, but skipping ahead or improvising is not helpful. You don't need to make huge motions, we found that small motions work better. Rotate the wand very slowly for the rotational tricks. You'll find the sweet spot. Ditch the stock batteries. Remember to insert the new ones Positive side facing OUT. Don't think of this as a One-For-All replacement, instead use it for a volume and playback of your TV and media playback device. You'll probably still need your other remotes if you have a complex system, but once you break out the Wand it's party time! The command feedback system is pretty darn cool, it pulses the number associated with the command you're using. Bought this for my wife's birthday, initially felt I was paying waaaay too much for a basic remote, but this gift is all about the fun and cool presentation. Yeah, it costs a lot, it's harder to use than a universal remote, but you should see the look on my wife and children's faces when she uses it!

This was a gift but the receiver of this gift thought it was wonderful. She tried it and said it worked very well. It comes in a very nice box and the instructions are on paper that looks old, all very nice. My granddaughter loves it. She loves anything Harry Potter. She didn't seem to have a hard time understanding instructions.
