This is a great phone system! One of the best features, that I wasn't even aware of until they arrived, is that the phones don't use the typical battery packs that are impossible to find or too expensive to replace. These phones use normal, NiMH rechargeable AAA! I buy new cordless phone systems every 3 years because the phones won't hold a good charge anymore and the replacement battery packs cost more than new phones (if you can even find them). The fact that these phones use normal, easily replaceable batteries is a huge deal for me. That one feature alone makes up for the slightly higher cost of entry because I'll make up for it in a 3 years, but these phones also have great features and work very well that also make the price worth it. With all of the features that these phones come with, I don't foresee the need to replace the phone system for a very, very long time. Adding new handsets to the system is incredibly simple. There are some features that are more complicated to use that you will have to reference the manual for, but that's only because it can do so much. Basic functions are easy and intuitive. Call quality is good. The Link2Cell feature was a requirement for me, and it works well. The cordless range is very good, even without the optional extender. If you have a wired headset plugged into the headset jack, then you cannot use the speakerphone. I was hoping to leave a headset hooked up to the phone for longer calls, but use the speakerphone for shorter calls, and that doesn't work well. The speakerphone quality is okay. The microphone picks up people on the other side of the room, which is good for me, but could be bad for others. I haven't actually been on the other side of a speakerphone call, but my wife tells me it echoes a bit, but that could be because I have it mounted on the wall. Overall, I am very pleased with this phone system and very glad I purchased it. I fully expect to use it for 10 years or more.

Overall, I really like this system. The GOOD: -2 line operation plus link up to 4 cell phones -call quality (I use the equalizer in the bass mode) is very clear and no background noise -works perfect thru a 3 floor townhouse with the base on the top floor -displays all light up and are easy to read -text message alert is awesome in addition to link to cell phone for calls -loads of features like silent mode, call block, talking caller id, handset naming for easy intercom use and many more little features -many of the features are individually selectable on each handset -ability to ring only specific extensions or all extensions based on which (of 4) cell phone is ringing -phonebook storage for 3000 entries, ability to group entries into sub phonebooks, and easy spell by name searching for entries -love the doorbell ringtone because I have my front door intercom setup as one of the lines -ability to link 12 extensions -handset chargers are wall mountable -relatively inexpensive for what you get -I've had it a few weeks and have had no issues The BAD: -as many have already said, the hold button requires 3 key presses but I don't need it much so it's not a big deal to me -when on a call, a soft key turns to a mute button and it should have turned to a hold button which would solve the issue above -while you can link 4 cell phones, only one can be in use at a time (not a problem for me but will be an issue for many) -if you attached the belt clip, it slightly covers the speaker for the speakerphone -the display is easy to read but the display is not designed to look pretty with the placement of all the various icons -the base phone does not have the ability to assign different ringtones to each line like the extensions can -handset chargers are hard-wired. I cut some of them and installed disconnect plugs to run the power over cat5 wire to wall mount the chargers with no power cords showing (see picture of phone charging with no visible wire) -handsets don't have a quality upscale design. I would have paid a little more for the addition of "hold" button (unless they changed mute to hold as mentioned above), better back lighting, and no rubber keys (the talk/off/soft keys light up on the edges but the icons don't light).

I have used a Siemens Corded/cordless for many, many years; it has been quite reliable however with the many wireless devices in the household, the phone has suffered from Wi-Fi interference. I did my research and decided to try the PanasonicKX-TG9582 2 line system which I received yesterday. The Wi-Fi interference is gone! The reception throughout our large house is quite good so far. I was able to pair 2 cell phones without any problems and I must say I am impressed by this technology. I do agree with previous reviews that found: 1. The lack of a hold button on the handsets is a big inconvenience 2. It should be possible to increase the sound more 3. The handset design could be more user friendly 4. The length of the base unit electrical cord is much too short That being said, there is a lot that is very good: 1. Being able to download my iPhone contacts to this unit 2. Being able to connect to my computer with a USB cable to access and call Outlook contacts 3. Being able to set the ringer on the handsets to off during sleep hours 4. Being able to pick up cell phone calls on the handsets 5. The sound is pretty clear with no more interference 6. The speakerphone on the base unit is quite good (I have not yet tried the one on the handsets but I doubt I will use this feature) 7. The amount of fine tuning of features that is possible I will continue to use and test this unit and will report back with any significant findings but so far, so good.

I thought I hated our existing VTech system. This Panasonic system is FAR worse. The lowlights? - Fragile-feeling, chintzy handsets. - The sound quality is terrible. - Every available ringtone is nerve-grating. - Putting someone on hold requires opening a menu and scrolling to the "Hold" option. Who thought that was a good idea?! On the bright side, the range is amazing as long as you stay in the same room as the base. Put more than one wall betwixt you and the base phone, and you can forget about it. The handset might ring, but it won't answer. No, endless adjusting of the various settings did not improve any of these drawbacks noticeably. The glaring "hold" design flaw certainly can't be overcome. I've always been a fan of Panasonic equipment, but this cordless system is a staggering failure front to back. The base phone itself is quite nice other than the dreadful ringtones; unfortunately they don't appear to offer the base separately. So this whole system is being returned... it's actually unlivable in a fast-paced environment with lots of movement between rooms. I've ordered replacement handsets for my aging VTech system instead. I've got a whole new appreciation for it after this.

The sound clarity is wonderful, and these are great for a small office, I previously owned the AT&T 2 line phone system with multiple handsets and a RCA 4 line phone system they still sell under the Motorola name, and the calls were always poor quality with it sounding like 2 soup cans with a string between them but this Panasonic system all the calls sound like a landline and the options are great. The cordless handsets also use 2 rechargeable AAA batteries which are included in the box, but they will be much cheaper to replace down the road as I won't be at the mercy of an expensive soldered and sealed battery kit saving me money when they stop charging

I have two land lines for a in-home office. I needed a system that would answer either line anywhere in the house. What I like about this system: Answers the two lines, expandable to more handsets if needed, announces the caller (I both like and dislike this, but mostly like), has quiet hours, has connection to my computer through Outlook (USB cable). Having the connect to cell is handy too since my cell phone gets called a lot as well. Big clock display, shows when I have voicemail from Comcast. (I don't use the built-in answering machine). What I dislike about this system: A big part of why I bought and stayed with this one (I tried others) was that I could connect it to Outlook and dial calls. Well, this does work,and on Windows 10. (I have Outlook 2016 on Windows 10. You just have to download the latest version of the plugin). However, the way this is implemented is baffling to me. Outlook will automatically format phone numbers as: (123) 456-7890. You can type it in anyway you like, and it will do this when you finish. I have tried changing settings to stop it from formatting this way with no luck. The plugin however will ONLY dial the number if it is: 1234567890. The speed-dials built-in to the plugin work fine, but any other number I try to dial does not. This means that if you look up a contact, and click dial, it will fail. This is completely ridiculous and a complete fail of the software in my opinion. I cannot understand how Panasonic would not have realized this in testing and provided a way to overcome it??? How hard would it be to have the software correct for number formatting? I can't be that hard. So if I want to remove the parenthesis and the dash and spaces MANUALLY before clicking dial, it will work. But otherwise it does not. So it ends up being easier to just manually dial on the phone keypad. So much for the Outlook plugin. VERY disappointed in this. Panasonic, if you are reading PLEASE fix this. Headset is another big sore spot. I used to have the RCA two-line system with its own integrated DECT headset. I loved the simplicity. It came paired like any of the extension handsets and it answered and hung up the line from anywhere in the house with a button on the headset. The reason I stopped using it was that the headset eventually wore our and stopped working, and it was never very comfortable. (Especially on long calls). This phone, uses Bluetooth for the headset. All I can say is: "Meh." I am not a fan of Bluetooth for a phone like this. The connection is always crackly and you can't go far from the base. And, you cannot answer the connected cell with the headset, because they both use Bluetooth, and the phone will only use one Bluetooth device at a time. So if someone calls you on your cell, you are stuck with answering from the base or just using your cell anyway which sort of defeats the usefulness of connect to cell. Again, not a very well thought out feature. Finally, the screen is pretty low-res and as someone else mentioned, the numbers wrap around to a second line, which is kind of annoying. So if Panasonic would add a two-line compatible headset that worked seamlessly with this phone (not Bluetooth) that answered and hung up calls and had a mute button, and fixed the Outlook plugin software to solve the silly number formatting issue, this would be a five-star phone system for sure. But until then, it is just OK.

Only had the phone for a day and already love it the corded phone is very clear even on speakerphone answering machine works well , Bluetooth also works very well sounds very good, people say I sound good also, buttons are fine nothing wrong with them, the cordless phone is very good sound quality is quite good wide variety of ringtones that all sound good , caller id works fine , one of my favorite things is 3000 entry’s which is very good for a phone system absolutely love that , also love the hold music , it’s easy to use taking caller id is a great function and works well, the phone has tons of great features , you can also buy more handsets which I will do in the future, overall the phone is great

El aparato esta muy bien y su funcionalidad es muy fácil, y no se mucho de esto, llego en tiempo y forma, hay otros equipos que tienen un menor costo y refieren las mismas funciones y son mas económicos, por eso la marca debería de valorar un precio más económico, felicidades al vendedor y a amazon

Needs an adapter for power connection without which the unit deos not work properly. The vendor should inform the same and make this clear.

Calls are clear, the block feature has cut down dramatically those unwanted annoying calls and the base unit is easy to use. I like that I can pair my cell phone with it so instead of answering calls with my cell they all come through on this system, very nice feature (obviously this only works when your phone is within range of the system). Also important to note this system does play a musical tune when people are put on hold. Not sure how to change the tune as yet because this was never mentioned in the manual or online.
