Is this small and light enough that it could sit in a kids lap in their carseat?

It’s pretty heavy. Little awkward to hold. I thought of it but decided against letting my grandson have it in car bc if an accident he could get clobbered pretty well in the face. Not light and plastic and no way to fasten.

How long do the radio songs last?

I am not real sure. We gave it to our Granddaughter and she played with it over at our house and took it home. It seems like it did not play the whole song. Maybe only a part of the song. Hope this helps.
