Sensitive regular cooking and a vape triggers them
They work. I hate them. Can go off during normal cooking. Triggered by vape. I'm sure if you are an in door smoker it will go off for those too. They are fine as it's only once in a while. 5 star because they do work. Better to be over sensitive than not sensitive enough I guess.

This 2-pack of Kidde Smoke Detectors are a great addition or replacement for your old smoke detectors. Easy to install . I've had no false alarms and test button makes it easy to test the unit. Battery life of 10 years sure makes my home safe. Great value for the money. Much cheaper price as compared to buying in my local box store. Buy this 2-pack. You won't be disappointed

Malfunctioning & no real support from seller or manufacturer
Not yet year a year old and one of the set I purchased began malfunctioning at 2AM. Nothing that the Kidde website recommends to reset works. It just continues screeching. Thankfully I am able to turn it off completely. But it does not function as it is supposed to when I turn it back on. It’s clean & was advertised as being good for ten years. Just over ten months after installing, this Smoke Alarm is worthless. Sadly, I have three more units that came in the set which I’m tempted to take down before they begin malfunctioning. I don’t want to leave my dog inside when I’m out running errands unless I have the dog door open for her to escape in the event of a malfunction. It’s so friggin loud & worse for her! I suppose I can disable them anll each time I leave her home alone. Or just submerge them in water & toss into the garbage & be done with Kidde forever.
