A great little camera for children and adults
I was given this camera a year ago and have had it in my purse ever since so I won't miss a special moment. It is a great camera for those who don't want to fuss with lens settings etc. It does all the work for you and has many options that are all built in and are easy to use. I bought one for a 76 year old friend and my niece bought one for her seven year old daughter. We are all enjoying terrific pictures with little effort. This camera does not take good night pictures of lights [like Christmas] but fulfills all my other needs year round. Two things I would suggest purchasing are Lithium batteries as Alkaline are not long lasting in the camera,[copper tops don't work well at all], and a larger SD card. The lithium batteries I put in last year are still going strong and I purchased a card for a few dollars on line which holds 300 pictures. There are extras included with the camera that make it even more enjoyable. Look around the internet and you can find it for around $80.00 new. A later model is now out, but I found that this was the better of the two for me.

Compact Camera
I was expecting the original Kodak East Share Camera. But they obviously changed the style, and this camera is way to small for my husband's hands. I returned it.

Happily Surprised
This summer I was looking for a good, yet inexpensive digital camera. I agonized over which camera to buy, but finally was forced to purchase the Kodak EasyShare C813 due to its low price. When I received it in the mail, there was a significant lack of excitement as it was not my first choice. After using it to take well over 300 pictures so far, I am actually very happy I purchased this camera. The time between the button press and the actual picture being taken is almost nonexistent. The camera uses AA batters, however after all the pictures I have taken, I still have not had to recharge my 2500 mAh Ni-MH rechargable batteries. Not to mention the picture quality being much better than I had anticipated. When I installed the Kodak Easyshare software that came with the camera, my computer froze several times over the first three or four days I had it, forcing me to restart it several times. After those trying few days, however, I have not had any problems with it.I am very happy with my camera purchase, despite the software problems, and would definitely recommend this camera to other cost-minded individuals looking to purchase a decent digital camera.

Nice, but LCD screen could be better
This camera was refurbished by an authorized Kodak repair center and came with a 1 year warranty so I figured it would be good as new. But, I notice the quality of the LCD screen has much to be desired. The dpi seems low, it has a matt finish and just seems cheap...I am assuming the screen has been replaced. I am pretty sure it wasn't replaced with the exact LCD screen it originally had.. I wish I would've known that ahead of time. The camera is very easy to use though, and takes great pictures.

Great value
We purchased this camera for our small kids who love to take digital pictures but I can't trust with my nicer cameras. For an 8 megapixel camera with a large viewing screen, the price is terrific. It has a small built in memory, which is nice but of questionable use. We've turned down the resolution for our kids as they don't care and it creates more space. If you are using this for real picture taking, you will need to buy a large SD card (like you would need to do with all cameras). The buttons are easy to use which was another requirement we had. Also, I consider the fact that the batteries are AA a plus as it eliminates the need for expensive, proprietary batteries. If you are a casual picture taker like most of us are, I see no reason to pay more for a camera that isn't going to offer you any real additional benefits. This is a very good camera.

love this camera!
I bought this for my granddaughter and she is so excited as its fairly easy for her......and especially for me as I am technologically challenged in a big way:) I wanted to get her something I could help her with so we would both be able to use the camera and she would feel comfortable enough with it so she could take it with her on school trips, etc.My only issue so far is that the markings on the battery slots look to be backward. Actually, I was in the process of sending the camera back when I read a review that mentioned the same thing so I took the camera back out and put the batteries in the other way and it works beautifully. The slot shows the - and + at the top which made me think that is where it would be ...on the top side. Instead, the mark is there to let you know that is the end that goes down into the camera. So it was a little confusing as I had never seen one marked that way before. We did not return the camera and we are very pleased. The pictures are so crisp in detail. I felt it was a very good deal.

Happy
I purchased this camera for personal use for my kids and I. I've been very pleased with this camera. I got to really test it out recently when my children and I went to the zoo. It's so easy to use and I love the image stabilization feature because with two kids in tow, it can be hard to take pictures that are not fuzzy. With this feature it's so much easier to get clear pictures. Also, when I purchased the camera it came with Kodak batteries, I was surprised how long they lasted. Mind you, I had been using the camera off and on to take pictures before we went to the zoo for six and a half hours and the batteries finally died after four hours of being there. After taking a ridiculous amount of pictures, 350 to be exact, the camera was on a lot. I did find turning it off whenever possible helps seemed to help with the life of the batteries. I'm very happy with my decision to get this camera.
