This new collection from acclaimed writer Ian Flynn features the Blue Blur like you've never seen him before. Gotta go fast! Collects issues #1–4 of the Sonic The Hedgehog series. Review: Great book - Awesome graphics and print. My 8 yr old loves looking at the graphics but can't really read it by himself. Review: Sonic The hedgehog Fallout vol 1 - It's a very good graphic novel I do wish that the listing for this graphic novel told people that it's issues 1-4 of this series when the 2nd vol out in February tells us that it's issues 5-8 to make it easier to figure out what this is. But besides that from what I can gather it is a continuation of sonic forces which is cool I didn't like forces that much but I feel this tells a much better story, with amazing art direction using each character to their fullest for people that felt tails was let's say a bit of a wimp in forces I am happy to inform you that he is much more like what'd you would expect from his character. Overall a very good graphic novel I highly recommend it.

The start of something new
Decided to take the deep dive into the Sonic Comics and so far, I am definitely loving and enjoying it. It’s cool to meet new characters besides the commonly known ones. It is definitely a good read.

Pretty neat!
I originally got this, and a couple other comic collections, because I was curious of IDW's interpretation of Sonic lore, and I'm really enjoying it! So far, its plot is pretty close to the games' canon, plus there are new, likeable characters with great personalities and original designs. I definitely had a blast reading these. This comic (at least the paperback) is also printed on excellent quality paper, which is a really nice touch.

Old but weirdly fresh take on Sonic
Let me just start by saying, this comic isn't the most fitting for new people, trying to get into the Sonic franchise for the first time. It takes places after Sonic Forces(the video game) and throws you straight into the plot. This isn't a Sonic origin story, the comic expects you to be familiar with Sonic and his characters and world. Fortunately you don't have to play Sonic Forces to understand the story, I started Forces but didn't finish as I didn't like the game, yet I was able to understand the comic. If you're a Sonic fan or even somewhat familiar with him and his characters then you should be able to jump in with very little confusion. Now to the actual review. What I love most about this iteration of Sonic, are the characters and the way they are written. A lot of the characters, especially Sonic, has that early 2000's edge to their personality. While movie Sonic comes off as innocent, playful and energetic(not hating), this Sonic is much like his Sonic Adventure counterpart, cool, confident, cheeky and heroic. I know some fans prefer that kind of Sonic so I thought it worth mentioning. Characters that were previously annoying or had badly written interaction and chemistry with Sonic are all fixed here. I will use a character as an example but leave out story details as to not spoil anyone. Amy Rose is usually portrayed as a love sick, stalker, damsel in distress. Her and Sonic usually never have any interesting dialogue between each other. Ian Flynn's version of the character is better written. Amy is competent, strong and shows leadership. She still has feelings for Sonic but it doesn't take over her entire character, she will put her feelings aside and focus on the mission and on those who need her. She's just as capable of fighting as Sonic and their teamwork is great to see in the pages. They have some nice banter with each other and you can tell that Sonic has a level of respect for her. Every character that interacts with Sonic has nice banter and chemistry with him and you can tell each one has a long history with Sonic. Sonic and his friends combine their abilities together in combat to make for some nice combos and super attacks. I like this because the comic doesn't tell you they are friends, it SHOWS you and displays the high level of teamwork these guys gained over The years. The pacing is good, it blends in a healthy amount of character interaction but the plot keeps moving and I never felt their was a useless panel. Lastly, the art and coloring for this is amazing, characters are expressive and have a nice visual appeal. I recommend for any Sonic fan, especially those looking for something with less cringe and childish jokes that unfortunately plague the current, modern Sonic games.

Captivating but violent
Very entertaining. Also multiple stories breakage is captivating. Violence is too much for small kids though

Easy to read
My 5yo was so happy! He read it all over the weekend. Language is easy with some challenging words to expand their vocabulary and the drawings are quite nice too.
