Are the attached earplugs on only one of the goggles in the two pack?

Yes, only the pink goggles with earplugs, black one haven't. Because this would be another choice for people who want or didn't want it. Hope you like it.

We have a 9-year-old child, is this swimming goggles suitable for him?

The big swim goggles are suitable 9 years old and above for kids, the small goggles are suitable 7-8 years old and above for kids.

How is the suction on these goggles? Does water get in at all?

They work great! Suction has been good with no degredation over time. If you have a larger head, you will have to pull straps out toward last notch in back or you will feel pretty hard pressure around eyes. I use them for both pool and open water. A little Spit bottle solution works great!
