It’s a beautiful, well made, and secure box to hold all my unmentionables. It compliments the top box perfectly. Fast shipping, we’ll packaged.

Affordable Gerstner
While I would truly love to have the heirloom quality handmade in the USA Gerstner, I am retired military and can't afford it. This gives me most of the look and feel while being at a price I can afford. Don't confuse this with a toolbox meant for daily carry in your truck. This is at its best on the workbench for quality storage of your fine machinist tools. That is how I use mine and I am happy with its performance.

Good value for the price
I'm a woodcarver and hate having my tools knock around in metal chests so I have several vintage wooden chests. As a chest base, this works very well, and I plan on purchasing one or two more. The quality control on this piece is very good - showing that you can get quality work from China if your quality standards are high enough.

Lower quality than Made in USA Gerstner
This item was a lower quality than the made in USA Gerstner model. I own both and have examined both the Gerstner and Gerstner International products. First, the panels on the Gerstner International have a rougher texture. This might be remedied by some steel wool or a tack cloth. In truth, it appears this product is sprayed once and sent out and not repeatedly sanded and varnished to get a good finish. I really see no difference in the construction of the drawers. But they have a cheaper feel than the USA product and do not move as smoothly in and out of the space for them. The made in China product is far less expensive but it is also an obviously lower quality product. But I knew that going in. Edit: I now think I was too hard on this toolbox. I am thinking of buying another and believe it suits my purposes. Yes, all of the above are true, but Dayton Gerstner boxes are over $1,000.

Watchmaker's Work Station
I love fake watches and Frankenwatches, some I combine. Now when I put this chest over the writing desk with elbow supports the height is perfect. The surface is perfect for clean work with small parts. Tools and parts store neatly in drawers. Once I am done I hang the key to the handle with a clip and hoist it on top of the cabinet to continue normal work on the desk. Honestly, this little box has made my hobby more fun.

Not the Gerstner that’s made in Dayton, Ohio,
I thought this was made in Dayton, Ohio ... Come to find out made In China, big disappointment. I didn’t think these were made in China, come to find out they make this way cheaper version in China for collectors and there small collectibles. The bottoms are VERY cheap, not even sure it’s real wood... Thus, I have seen the real Gerstner Brand items , NOT EVEN close.. I kept it , I just want to see how long it last.

Would consider more...
Good tool cabinet...not the original "Gerstner" but for the price it's acceptable.

Fell apart as I opened the box
This is not a good quality box. In my case, the lock tumbler fell out (and then fell into many little pieces) the very first time I opened the box. While this could have been fixed, I chose to return for a refund based on several other things I didn't like about the box. First, the drawer bottoms are made of thin, flimsy particle board and are merely stapled to the bottom of the drawers. If you are thinking of storing tools in this tool chest, you'll be disappointed when the bottom falls out. Second, the drawers themselves do not have any "stops" on them, so as you pull on the drawer, it can come completely all the way out, spilling your tools all over the place. Not a good thing if you are storing well-sharpened chisels, as was my plan. Third, the drawers themselves don't really fit into the case too well. There is too much "slop" in them, so they can easily get stuck unless you push them closed very carefully. All in all, I'd say this is a good piece for storing costume jewelry or little trinkets, but definitely not tools. But in my case, even if the lock hadn't fallen apart immediately upon opening it, I would have returned it. Poor quality has no place in my shop.
