SEIKO Automatic Watch for Men 5-7S Collection

This is a great inexpensive automatic watch and it is very accurate too! For the price, this is a great daily watch for the office. It goes well with business casual attire and the case diameter is perfect in my opinion. Where the trend is toward bigger watches, this one seems more classic and refined with its smaller case. The dial markers are very shiny and look very sharp against the white background. The face is very clean with almost a minimalist feel to it. Overall, this is a great watch.

You can’t go wrong with the Seiko 5. The 7s26 automatic movement is great considering the price point of this watch. It’s a simple and classy automatic watch without spending a fortune.

Although a great-looking watch, which I purchased based on previous Seiko's I've owned, I was disappointed that this one did not keep accurate time. I wore it for an evening of dancing, which definitely winds a self-winder. Later when I looked at it, it was about an hour behind. I then placed it in my auto-winder box alongside an Invicta automatic. Two days later, the Seiko did not advance. I returned it and was charged a restock fee of $90 for a DEFECTIVE watch! Very disappointed.

Appears well made, handsome and elegant piece.The glass front and back is clear and scratch resistant. Viewing the mechanism from the back is a thrill. I have purchased two of these over the last several years. This is no chronometer timepiece although it looks like one.Both watches gained about 30 second per day, adjusting the rate was impossible, the slightest nudge on the lever throws the rate off by up to a minute or two. Another somewhat frustrating issue was that after aligning the second hand at 12 with the minute hand on the mark, after a few days the minute hand drifts off almost halfway between marks with the second hand at 12 . Movement slippage, perhaps. Both watches stopped running after a year or so, repair is out of the question as so few people service mechanical watches nowadays, except for the very expensive makes. I am tempted to buy another, the watch really looks beautiful. Or just wear the ones I already have and not worry about what time it is.

This is a great watch. It keeps pretty good time, comfortable, and appropriate size for wrist. The dial is not too big or small. I had to adjust the band, but that is to be expected!

Amazon offers 16 variants of this Seiko Automatic Watch. I purchased the silver dial/ white face model. This is a man's watch, but, probably looks better on a smaller wrist. It is an Automatic which means it's self-winding while you wear it. Self-winding watches are designed to run continuously, so, if you will not be wearing it daily, you should purchase a winder which is designed to keep your Automatic Watch in motion 24/7. Automatic Watches have a specialized lubricant which can negatively impact the longevity of the watch should it stop running for too long. If this will be your first Automatic Watch do some reading on it. These Seiko Models are designed for casual/dress. I wouldn't wear it while doing very physical activity. * * * * *

Without it being a counterfeit! I basically got this because it looks very close to the Rolex Datejust. Ok, I know the band looks so a bit off, but at this price, I'll let it slide. I love the clam-shape case of the Rolex which is one of the most beautiful shapes ever designed for a watch and this watch is quite close to that shape. The see-thru back is a nice plus and let's you see the inner workings of the watch. This is an automatic watch which means you should wear it daily to keep it running. Some watches may run up to two days without winding but usually one day is tops. Another solution is to get a watch winder if you like to alternate between watches. You cannot really go wrong at this price if this will be your primary watch.

I was expecting the Seiko watch to be Made in Japan, but it was actually Made in Malaysia. But that's fine, it's still a Seiko, hopefully it will last.
