Great Distraction During Shopping
I bought this toy for my two-year-old son who is really into the alphabet and alphabet sounds right now. We picked it up from the post office on the way to the hardware store. This toy allowed us to get our shopping done without having to deal with a screaming toddler that doesn't like to go shopping. For that alone it is worth it. There are 2 volume settings on this toy. Maybe it was just quiet in the store that day, but I felt like the lower of the two volumes was still pretty loud. My son really liles the "V" key. He tends to push that one button repeatedly for what seems like hours on end. I will probably be dreaming about the letter V tonight. I can't really comment on the durability because I haven't had it for very long. It seems pretty well made though. All in all it's a great toy and very educational. I love it and would highly recommend it.

We really like it, great price at $12 too! Just change the batteries if it seems to stop working!
My 8 month old has been having a very good time with it for 2 weeks now. The quality of letter pronunciations is pretty good (name of letter and how it sounds), but it also has some musical instrument buttons too that can play one at a time or layered together. Almost like a techno DJ synthesizer! On top of that, there are 5 different modes all the buttons can be in, as controlled by a slider bar. It would be better if you could layer multiple letters at the same time in jukebox mode (you can layer any of the instruments, and one letter at a time, but why not just make it a maximum number of overall buttons that could simultaneously be 'voiced', since there are 6 instruments and up to one more letter... I would like to be able to use say 1 instrument and 2 letters simultaneously). Update: After 2.5 months of owning this, it is experiencing issues with the buttons/slider-switch or circuitry inside. The device resets in a second or two after pressing any buttons, except for the instrument buttons in jukebox mode. Update #2: Actually the toy didn't die! The batteries just needed replaced, it's totally fine now :)

Such a great toy for the price!
I'm just amazed at how many things this toy can do. One of like 100 things it can do is that it asks you to identify a letter in the alphabet. If you choose the wrong letter, it tells you something like, "No, that's R, please select N"....I can't believe it identifies what you choose and corrects you. My 12-month-old doesn't fully appreciate it yet, but I hope it will grow on him in the next coming year. He's most mesmerized by the lights and sounds it makes, but doesn't understand the games and features yet. Love most LeapFrog toys!

Grandkids love this toy
I found this toy at the Thrift story. The grandkids loved it so much and it has helped them learn their ABCs. That I had to bought another to keep them entertained in the car. Very durable, has been dropped many time and still works great. Highly recommend this toy for toddlers.

Don't get it if anyone has perfect pitch
It's very cute but if anyone in your family has perfect pitch dont get it! The toy "sings" the letter names on a specific pitch, and the A through G pitches do NOT correspond to the actual pitch of the music note. I know this sounds like a nitpick but if you or your kid has perfect pitch this will drive you crazy. And if you are teaching your kid music and hope they will develop perfect pitch, this will definitely work against that. But it is a great toy for learning alphabet and phonics.

My son loves this
Bought this for my son's first birthday in April and it is obviously his favorite. He plays with it everyday. He loves all the sounds and flashing lights. The only problem is he's played to rough with it and now it doesn't do half of what it's supposed to. Sounds don't sound, no games, barely any music. He carries it around and I guess dropped it one too many times. I'm disappointed since I hoped it would be around for a while and be a letter learning device. Still a great toy just not for babies or young toddlers.

This was a great purchase!
I have been an elementary teacher for 44 years and I was pleasantly surprised with what a great tool this is to help young children learn their letters and sounds in several different fun ways to learn them by teaching the sounds through music and activities and the letters lighting up while singing their sounds. It is very engaging! I still substitute teach and have taken it with me to do with Kindergarten and preschool students and most of them love it! It is a true bargain!
