Very bad battery life, Good sound, very comfortable
6/10/25 Update - changed score back to 4-star. I contacted Soundpeats customer service. They were very helpful trying to troubleshoot and remedy the issue. Per their instructions, I've tried charge cycling and it fixed the charging issue momentarily. After a day the discharging issues came back. Soundpeats ended up sending me a new pair (within two days!) that has been working perfectly since. Great customer service and a great product unless you get a one off. I'm still deducting one star because the phone app won't work without a data connection. 5/15/25 Update - changed score to 1-star down from 4-star: After using these earphones for about a month and a half—primarily while traveling—I’ve noticed significant issues with battery life. Now that I’m back to my daily routine, the problem is even more apparent. For example: - I fully charged them yesterday, and today, without any usage, the battery dropped to 70%. - After just *one hour* of Bluetooth music playback, the battery plummeted to 20%. At this point, I suspect my pair might be defective, but it also raises concerns about overall longevity. Unfortunately, returning them isn’t an option, which is disappointing given the poor performance. Original review: Comfort & Sound: These earphones are a joy to wear—super comfortable, and the open-ear design doesn’t sacrifice much of the sound quality (at least to my non-audiophile ears). Audiobooks and podcasts sound crystal clear, and phone calls are perfectly understandable, though the mic could be better. A few people mentioned I sound a bit muffled or distant, but no one struggled to hear me. Buttons Over Touch Controls: The physical buttons were the main reason I chose the Pop over the touch-only PearlClip, and I don’t regret it. Double- and triple-clicking is way easier with tactile feedback, and the app lets you fully customize every button—no accidental taps! Case & Charging Annoyances: The case isn't great—it’s slippery, awkward to open, and thicker than others I’ve used. The charging port being on the back instead of the bottom is a weird choice. It might seem nitpicky, but when you’re charging from a power bank in a backpack or pocket, a bottom port saves space and hassle. Battery Life: I will update my review later. App Love & Hate: The PeatsAudio app is surprisingly refined—customization is excellent, and features like dynamic EQ and movie/game mode are fantastic. But there’s a huge flaw: the app *requires a data connection* just to adjust settings. Since my signal at work is spotty, this drops the app’s usability to a 1/10 for me. Final Verdict: A great pair of open-ear buds with awesome comfort, sound, and button controls, held back by a *flawed app* and an somewhat annoying case. If Peats fixes the app’s offline access, these would be near-perfect for my needs. I bought these on sale for $30 and I plan on keeping them. I was not paid for my review.

Wiping off the body oil if you have auto-disconnect/charging issues
Update 2: The replacement earbuds also started experiencing the same issues after about a month. However, I figured out the cause. It is the body oil that covers the electrodes after workouts, making charging difficult. Since it is impractical to prevent the electrodes from contacting the skin, the solution is to wipe off the oil before reinserting the earbuds into the case. Now, it has become my habit to quickly wipe the earbuds on my clothes before putting them back in the case, and I rarely have the same problem anymore, even with the first set. While the solution works, I still believe SoundPEATS should improve the design of the charging mechanism, as I do not have the same problem with my earbuds from other brands. Update 1: Soundbeats contacted me and offered a replacement for the defective unit. The replacement functions without any problems. It appears that the previous issue was an isolated incident, so I changed my rating to 4 stars to acknowledge the good product and excellent customer service. I deducted one star to remind the company to enhance the charging mechanism, which I believe caused the failure in the previous set. Overall, I really like the product's performance, including the sound quality, volume, convenience, and long battery life (when it is properly charged). The Bluetooth connection may temporarily drop when I turn around, but it reconnects automatically, allowing my music to continue without any intervention from me, so it’s not a major concern. Once again, I never had to worry about the buds falling out of my ears during my workouts. Highly recommend! Original: I bought the PearlClip Pro about two months ago and liked it a lot, so I ordered this Pop Clip for exercises. It worked well at first. The audio quality is not as good as the PearlClip Pro, but it is adequate for my intended uses. It stays on during movement. However, a main issue started to develop right after I passed the return window: the buds do not disconnect from the phone after I put them back in the case. I did not realize that until I found there was no sound from my phone. I could still disconnect them if I picked them up from the case and put them back a few times. The more frustrating issue, however, appeared yesterday when I was trying to use them, and I discovered that one of them was completely out of battery while the other one was 100% charged. I believe the problem stems from their inability to shut off or disconnect from the Bluetooth. It is a nightmare, as you never know if they are properly charged when you need them. I hope this is just an isolated case and that Soundpeats is willing to fix my issue. I have only had them for a month and a half!

Soundpeats has given us two great products in the open clip style earbud category
I purchased these on a whim as I saw they were briefly available. I own the big brother of these - the Soundpeats Pearl Clip Pro so I wanted to compare them. The Pop Clip: smaller driver, thicker but shorter case, lower cost, and, most importantly, a physical button control on each earpiece. Both are very comfortable. Neither have wireless charging, Both are very good sound for the price The Pearl Clip has deeper bass and a fuller sound. Honestly, it competes pretty well with the Bose Ultra Open. The Bose is better but if you factor in the price differential, it's a very solid choice for this type of open earbud. The Pop Clip, again, factoring price in, is also a really solid choice. It's comfortable, has a stable bluetooth connection, decent bass for this type of earbud (temper your expectations on any open earbud) a physical control button and decent battery life. I listened at low to medium volume to the Pop Clip and the Pearl Clip most of the work day without recharging. You really can't go wrong with either. 2 tips: 1. Make sure you download the PeatsAudio app. Even if you already own Soundpeats products and have the Soundpeats app installed , you need the new app. 2. It may just be my opinion, but I prefer the Movie Mode setting with Bass Boost EQ on both. These settings work very well for medium to low volume listening that will still be enjoyable and involving while maintaining situational awareness.

Thoroughly impressed!
I've been on a journey to find a set of budget (<$100) clip-on open ear headphones that work for me, and I think this is the one! I feel like this new niche of headphone is on the rise as we're looking for balance between good sound and situational awareness for those of us who are active or working while simultaneously need to have audio access to the environment for safety or communication reasons. So far I've tried a few of the sub-$100 brands recommended to me by Amazon (i.e. Tozo, Baseus, Monster, truefree, etc. and some other brands I'd rather not mention, lol). Indeed preferences are subjective, but I finally settled on this one because I was blown away by the out-of-box sound quality (crisp details, soundstage, and as much bass one can expect from open-ears), comfort (the feeling of having nothing pinching!), and quick and consistent connectivity that I've had so far (no skips!). After pairing, the buds connect within seconds after taking them out from the case. Physical button with resounding click is very appreciated for good haptic feedback on commands. The bridge spring coated with rubber/silicone(?) gives good grip to the earpieces when taking them out of the case and adjusting them on the ears. My only gripe about the design is that the case is rather hard to open if my hands are extremely dry and cannot get a grip on the hinge (the opening is on a slant). The whole thing has slipped and flown completely out of my hands a couple times while trying to open it. Maybe add a indent for grip to the opening? Not a deal breaker though.

Bluetooth connectivity is weak, otherwise a nice unique product
The Bluetooth connection is very weak. I have an old pair of Soundpeats T2 earbuds that work at a very long range and pretty well through walls and these PopClips can barely go one room over in my house before they start stuttering. Otherwise I like the comfort although it takes a little getting used to to get convinced they aren't falling out. So far I haven't come close to losing one off my ear, they stay put very well including at the gym and on walks although I haven't tried a high impact workout like running. The volume definitely needs to be cranked up outside. The sound quality is good, I'm not too worried about that but I've been enjoying them and even thought a few songs sounded really good and noticeably better than usual on them. I was excited for the physical buttons and it is a nice feature but they're kind of hard to press, not a big deal. I did try to update the firmware in the app hoping it would help the connectivity and it didn't and the app is a bit of a mess and it requires you to make an account. Not sure if the other app features really make it worth your while

Excellent value
These clip style earbuds have a lot of tech packed into them. I have been using Shokz openfit air earbuds and when they came out with the clip style, I was planning to get them. I started to research this type of earbuds and found these SoundPEATS at less than 1/4 the price. After checking a multitude of reviews, I decided to give them a shot. I am very glad I did! They are so comfortable and don't interfere with my glasses like the openfit airs did. Although the connection is not as strong as the Shokz, they work great for when I'm out and about, or at my desk working. I've taken calls on them and the receiver says the sound is excellent. I love the fact that there is a physical button instead of touch control, as I was always accidentally turning my Openfits on or off when adjusting my glasses.

5 stars for SoundPEATS, what?
I got these in a bundle along with the Capsule 3 Pro + buds I ordered because my daughter wanted a good open ear pair for work. I had to take these for a test run, pairing them with my phone went smooth as I already had the app installed. I wasn't expecting much from an open air bud because of reviews I have seen on other brands. They clipped well on my ears and the speaker ball fit nice in my ear, very comfortable, even forgot I had them in at one point. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound, punchy bass which I thought was the major downside to these type buds. Took a call from my daughter and she said I sounded good and I had no trouble hearing her. The push button controls felt a little cheap (worried me about longevity), but they worked well. My daughter really liked these, she enjoyed the sound and were perfect for her work. Unfortunately I had issues with the buds I bought in the bundle which meant a return of these as well. If you have a need for this type of bud I do recommend.

(Buyer Be Informed) General Impressions (SoundPEATS POP Clip Open Ear Earbuds) UPDATED 4-21-2025
What I like: They're small. Have a Tactile Button. Lightweight. Customer Service responded within 1-2 business days. Decent Sound. App Support. What I don't like: Terrible Bluetooth Connection Issues. Customer Service gave me the cookie cutter "Did you try turning it off and on again?" suggestion to fix the intermittent issue with the left earbud disconnecting entirely. I would have refunded the item entirely but the only free option was the Amazon Store all the way across town or paying a third of the products' price just to have UPS ship it for me as I had already discarded the original packaging. In short, I've purchased Soundpeats products in the past and purchased this product with expectations of the brand to hold up. I was wrong, things have changed. I'm forced to keep this item and I do not like it. Will never purchase Soundpeats again, moving forward. Update 4-21-2025: The outreach from the Soundpeats Team has been very cooperative and understanding. They helped me identify particular issues with this model of Earbuds and even went above and beyond to ensure I was generally satisfied. At the time of writing I am updating the product review to 4 stars in observance of this effort to effectively communicate and ensure I was taken care of. For the pricing of these earbuds, I wasn't expecting the Crème de la crème but they make an honest, earnest effort to be budget friendly and have a premium feel. Perhaps down the road, I will give some of their newer products a sampling to see if they learn and apply the criticisms I've given them regarding these earbuds. Only time will tell.
