Very Good Quality at Great Price
I've had the same Gerber multitool in my outdoor bag for over a decade and it's always worked flawlessly. I decided to buy this one to keep in the car and was so impressed I bought a second one of these a couple of weeks later. The quality, fit and finish are very good. This is a very solid multitool built to last. Frankly, at this price it's impressive. I've also had good experiences with Gerber's lifetime warranty. I sent my old multitool in because the blade started showing rust spots and wear after nearly a decade. They cleaned it up, sharpened it, and sent it back at no cost, no questions asked. 9 out of 10 companies would've said it was wear and tear and denied warranty work.

Quality.
Alright here's what you need to know. I collect these multi tools for fun, and perhaps a little pride. The Gerber truss is probably one of the best for the money that I've seen in a long time, that is if you can get a good one, it's a roll of the dice and it's across the board for all models and makes. The first one right out of the box, was perfect in every way and a delight, so I bought another one and it was a joke, the pliers misaligned, one handle sloppy the other one too firm and a number of tools collided, the Phillips screwdriver doesn't fit the screws, the file not very sharp and the locking mechanism didn't work very well on on one side, it's too loose. About the only thing worth having was the Awl. Obviously it's a return. So what are you getting with the Gerber Truss, if you get lucky and get a good one. It's for medium-duty don't push it too hard or it'll probably get bent out of shape. What I can tell you is the tool combination is one of the best, and you couldn't get me to part with my first one for anything. In conclusion my advice would be if you want it to last, it should be for display purposes only. That way it'll last you a long time, but you may have to dust it off occasionally. Like I say I collect these things, and they are for display only. Sorry if I burst your bubble. I'm not saying not to buy it, it's worth the risk. But if you get a good one, don't try it again. Update; I've had my Gerber trust for a while now, and it's needed a few adjustments as it gets broke in a little bit. So it might be worth your time to buy a good number 9 star bit. It really is for display purposes. The metal frame is made of a very hard lightly brittle spring metal plus it's quite thin, so if it gets sprung will affect every tool in the unit. Just flexing the tool will cause collisions with a number of tools. There is only one narrow bridge that connects the two pieces as one in the handle, and at the other end is a plastic cap. You probably want it loose because if you tighten it, it affects the tension on the tools and can cause collisions. Therefore it's a balancing act between the bearings and the plastic caps. Conclusion, I was very careful with mine, as I'm a mechanic. It's great to show Friends and use as a conversation piece. In that way the Gerber truss has a lot going for it. But I can assure you, if you TRY to use it AS A TOOL, EVEN ONCE IT WILL GET BENT OUT OF SHAPE, and you probably won't like what you see. So enjoy it as a novelty piece.

Great Features. Average Build Quality. Excellent Price.
Pros: -More tools than Suspension but half oz lighter (honestly why is this not named Suspension Nxt?) -Small enough to carry closed, large enough to feel full in hand when open -Steel seems sturdy enough -All tools lock -All tools accessible from closed position -Pliers are spring loaded -Wire cutters are better than leatherman's (non-replaceable) wire cutters -Plain blade + Saw + Serrated blade = Trifecta -All tools have smooth openings out of box -Nice warranty -Price! (Price of lowest tier Leatherman but with features of their $100+ multitools) -BTW, KnifeHQ has the Truss for $9 cheaper than Amazon =) Cons: -Steel is probably only satin finished 420(budget stainless steel, but good enough) -Feels like it'll last 5 years(but not much longer. Leathermans feel like I could pass them down to the next generation) -Even in fully locked position, tools had some play -Blades are on the smaller side -Somewhat blocky design(had no problem with it, but I know some ppl won't like it) Overview: Excellent tool for less than $50. Build quality will last a couple years with moderate use. But for $46, you can use and abuse this thing all day and not feel guilty. Seriously. You can buy three of these, break one every three years over a 10 year period for the same price as one Leatherman Charge. I would pick my Leatherman Surge in a life or death situation, but I will be carrying the Gerber Truss on all my camping trips. It has all the necessary tools, good enough steel, light enough, and cheap enough that I can actually use this to its breaking point. Leatherman's can definitely take more punishment, but need to be oiled and cared for. Honestly, probably not gonna clean this Truss even once cuz I can always buy a new one relatively guilt free. The Gerber Truss is the Honda Civic of the multitool world. Cheap, reliable, and easily maintained.

Congratulations, it's a baby Gerber!!
Congratulations, it's a baby Gerber!! Fully grown right out of the box. It has a nice case with fits well in either horizontal or vertical tactical positions. It is sturdy and lives up to its legacy brand as well crafted, engineered and designed. This is currently replacing my 30 year old Leatherman. The blades are sharp and easily resharpened with little effort.

Very handy, very light duty
Pretty handy tool to have, but never the best tool for the job. It's great to be able to quickly pull it out of your pocket for simple, LIGHT DUTY work, instead of having to go find tools. However, it is definitely light duty. Don't expect to pry on things or use the pliers for heavy work. They are needle nose, and very handy for small things, but not very rigid. I tried to twist a wire hanger, perpendicular to the jaws of the pliers, and the jaws themselves were twisting sideways. The cutter on the pliers WAS able to cut the hanger, which I was not expecting. I've definitely gotten some good use out of these, which has saved me many trips to my toolbox. Just don't get rough with them. They're CONVENIENT, but not good for everything. My favorite part is the scissors. They're super tight and sharp, been super useful for opening packaging and cutting strings off of clothing and things. The straight edge knife was dangerously dull, and the large handle made it difficult to sharpen on my diamond stone, but it got sharp enough to be useful pretty quickly. All in all, happy with my investment. I use it at work and home and when I'm out, which is much more than I expected.

Exceeded expectations-case and tool built to last
This exceeded my expectations. Itโs hardy, strong, nothing flimsy or cheap. For the price this honestly was a great buy. The added case, is equally great quality. Clips easily to the belt, and perfect for a days work out in the field. End to end, good quality for a multi-tool!

Spring-assist flaw
The spring-assist for the scissors shifts out of place when in use. So it's quite a hassle to manually open it after each cut.
